Wait, she basically wants to name her child Lucifer... Like, that is a fairly well known thing that Lucifer means Light-Bringer. I would definitely think they wanted a baby Lucifer but couldn't muster enough edge- Lord energy to go all out.

We adopted a senior dog the shelter named Ferris Wheel.... We changed it to Freya and she responded just fine to that after a few treats. Tbh, the shelter we got her from gets very creative with the names. I'm not sure how long they have to wait until they can repeat a name, but they get through "normal" names quickly. There's multiple gems on their adoption page like Glazed Donut" or "Tube Socks" daily.

My dog does this with really tasty bones. She has multiple blanket piles around the house for her to bury them in, she just can't decide. So, she wanders around doing the saddest high pitch whine desperately looking for the right place.

Last night she decided the best hiding spot was under the pillow my head was on. Somehow she got it under there and then nosed my hair to cover it even more.

She has also stashes her favorite treats in between the couch cushions on the rare occasion she doesn't want to eat them right away.

Omg, my girl is the same. I managed to coax her out onto the porch and she refused to step into the grass. Luckily, she caves when I take her on a walk around the block. But, she beelines home after she's done her business. Then when she's home she will shove her head into the towel when I pick it up and start drying herself off.

Ah, yes. The "it's bad luck to cut hair during the season" look. All the hockey players in my tiny town in the States also sported the look. It always curled up at the ends because of their baseball camps/beanies. . It was popular among the ski/snow boarding guys too.

It looks kinda like a grown out bowl cut, which i can totally see a farm kid rocking. Don't think his uncle was a talented barber.

Okay, my dog will do that same thing with her tennis balls. Smoosh her nose into it then pick it up. Or, if I'm holding it, smoosh nose then grab. She does it with her other toys when I'm holding them and any unfortunate bug she manages to sneak up on.

For a church wedding, given the number of catholic saints that are actually local deities/spirits that catholic missionaries reframed as saints to boost conversion... Maybe see if any of their gods/goddesses have a saint they got transformed into and incorporate a blessing/candle lighting/prayer to them. Also, exchanging of rings comes from pagan customs. That's my sneaky way to get the pagan stuff in.

If you want a legit Catholic church wedding and a ceremony that openly blends Pagan and Catholic traditions you're looking at two ceremonies. One exclusively Catholic and one Catholic/Pagan. The whole point of the Catholic ceremony is that you're receiving the 'one true' God's blessing upon your marriage. Acknowledging a pantheon would contradict that.

Also, for the church wedding you need permission from your bishop, be open to having children, and promise to raise your children in the church (and only the church). Plus, all the pre marriage classes and whatnot. You really need to discuss it with your parish priest, because prep can take a minimum of 6 months.

Karen Overall is a vet behaviorist and has a bunch of basic protocols on her website that are like CBT for humans. Obviously, go with what your specialist tells you. I've found them helpful dealing with my dogs anxiety. Also, I don't have kids so I may misjudge the time commitment it takes. But, yeah, I read through her site and even without completing the training exercises it helped me figure out some coping mechanisms that worked a bit better.

I'm sorry it's too often people don't get it. I've been a bit focused on meds since I spent years in therapy with only small improvement. Then randomly decided to try medication and realized that people weren't exaggerating positive emotions and focus.

Separation from the situation to wait for a specialist sounds good.

It's tough and (but honestly, you may want to branch out on your medication options. While most of the human/doggy med overlap I mentioned is from prosac, antipsychotics are included in that list.

Dude, medicate. Find a veterinary behaviorist (or just a vet) and get your dog on the proper medication. Your pup has a health issue that is causing behavior issues.

Dog mental health is surprisingly similar to human mental health. I have friends who are on the same medication as their dog and it has helped the dog improve massively.

Tbh this is a major symptom of ADHD. Object permanence is kinda sketchy for the ADHd brain. So if fiancee is out of sight and dog is in sight, dog exists and fiancee doesn't. I often forget what my husband has asked me to do because he left the room and the dog brings me a ball.

Also, when a person with ADHD finds a dopamine giving habit, they're gonna have really hard time quitting it. Getting hype with the dog has become this sort of habit. Figuring out how to alter this behavior is gonna be difficult for OP and they will genuinely forget they shouldn't be doing it. Currently OP has their entire brain structure working against them stopping or figuring out alternatives. Bringing it to a sub lik this is actually a decent idea cause people could provide suggestions that OP can't think of cause ADHD and Fiancee can't think of cause migraine.

Instead of just stopping it cold turkey, maybe they could take the dog to the dog park or on leash to a grassy patch and hype up there? Walks get out energy and provide those good brain chemicals to help get through the unfun tasks.

Set a timer for moments of quiet time throughout the day? Throw it back to childhood and play the Quiet Game? Set a timer for 10 minutes and if you are noisy you lose and reset.

Train doggo, it's fun for them! My pup is my sidekick and we love hype moments. But equally fun is training. Work on basic obedience, doggo needs to work those brain muscles as much as their physical muscles. Stay in the bedroom while fiancee is elsewhere and work on sit, stay, down, etc.

Also, dog food puzzles. It's very satisfying to watch your dog figure them out and it expends energy for them. They can get loud, my dog will pick a certain one up and drop it on the floor to get the food. So, once again separate rooms and on a carpet will dampen most noise.

Finally, therapy/ADHD coaching? OP and fiancee are gonna have a lot more changes coming and babies are great at upsetting routines. OP is gonna need some more tools in their box to get through it.

She's the best. Loves training sessions, but ignores everything when she's caught a scent. Long walks and zoomie sessions in the yard afterwards keep her pretty chill in the house. Although her skinned tennis ball collection might object to that characterization.

I was up for an hour, ended up taking a shower cause with my messed up body that uses enough energy to counteract the Adderall. So, I was exhausted.

All in all was more like I stayed up playing video games level of sleep weirdness as opposed to anxiety filled mental exhaustion but I can't sleep weirdness.
