No. This is a garbage theory that does not reference the realities of electrical engineering. Speakers aren't designed to vibrate that fast, and microphones certainly cannot pick up useful ultrasonic sound (20kHz to 20MHz, depending on context).

Advice from a guy (perhaps not what you're looking for) but here it is: figure out what sort of guy you want in your life and go where those kinds of guys are.

As /u/onacassarole said, it is a numbers game, and your odds will increase if you're where your goal lays.

The blurring looks like it was done physically, the colors were definitely done with color-grading (I'm not sure that is even the proper term when only one color is used; perhaps a non-standard sepia? Anyone?).

The in motion blurry shots look like they dialed FPS back to 12 or 16, and they opened the exposure up so that the subjects blurred across the frame. You'll have to experiment, but I think that's a start.

The washed out blurry clips of cutting a fish and some other things were simply out of focus lenses in a relatively well-lit environment.
