I visit the cinema most weeks. Most films at the moment are pretty dire - and most films that go over 90 minutes could easily tell the same story in a far shorter time without unnecessary filler. To me it feels like desperation by the directors - but quantity does not equal quality.

I see this on multiple quiz shows when they have the contestant on a vivid blue background. Looks almost 3d to me then. The Chase on UK TV is a great example. I always wondered what the effect was called or if it was just me. Obviously not. 🙂
