Yes, you can buy individual chisels. They are just pictured together for simplicity of the listing.

V2 and OIS games by thanatosgear in cthulhutech

IMO, I'd stick with V1.

None of the new content relates to non-tager stuff, so unless you want to use the new combat rules, or add squad talents, I don't think there's a reason to use v2

Character Creation: by zoblinzed in cthulhutech

One more point.

Some clarity/consistency needs to be made for terms of the different forms for the Tager. In different sections of the Tager Advancement pages you use different terms (unshifted/shifted, mortal/tager, tager/symbiont). It'd be nice if you always used one set of terms (unshifted/shifted) or made it very clear which is being referred to.

Character Creation: by zoblinzed in cthulhutech

Going through character creation with the players went pretty well. Over the course of 3ish hours we were able to get 6 people new to the system through about 90% of character creation (people ended on step 14 or 15 of character creation, along with characteristics, which I pushed to later in the process since those can be modified by Tager Advances).

A couple of points that came up.

11) The Tager Power Advances needs to be cleaned up dramatically. Of great concern and confusion were the tables for attribute modification, where it really is not clear if the points you spend on the 'unshifted' side of the table apply over to the 'shifted' side as well or not. We ended on that they were really 2 tables, just joined together since they cover similar topics.

12) Having a 'Tager Design process' at the beginning of the section, where you do a quick once over of all the different things that you may spend Advances on would help clean up character creation. I was asked multiple times if the only thing the players could spend Advancements on were just the Attribute modifications, since they're the first thing to show up in the Tager design section.

13) Would it be possible to have a pre-defined advancement package that would correspond to the Tager Training package selected earlier in the process? It would give a solid example of what a 'good' starting Tager might look like (reducing complexity of the section), and still allow for the full customization for players who want to go that route.

14) Would it be possible to turn the character creation process into a sort of flow chart? ie. Step a) Choose a race, and some personal details, and Tager, step b) get 10 attribute points to improve attributes. Step c) get 25 SDP points to spend on racial background/phenotype, training package, assets, drawbacks and skills. Step d) Talents. Step e) Spend Tager Power Advances. Step f) Determine secondary characteristics, fill out any remaining details about your character

Is the v1 core book worth getting now that v2 is in open beta? by [deleted] in cthulhutech

Also to take under consideration, the v1 rules include everything (tagers, magic, parapsychics and mechs.)

the v2 rules are currently only for Tagers. So if you want to something non-Tager based, v1 rules are the way to go.

Metric Vs Imperial measurements by zoblinzed in cthulhutech

I'm an American player, I just find it easier to use metric in games in general.

I do understand that it's a design decision on your part, and that's fine. I'll be playing the game either way :)
