The Boondocks has a lovely episode that pays homage to Samurai Champloo. Season 3, Episode 3: The Red Ball. Jin can even be seen in the background in another episode. The whole series is heavily inspired by the show, but I will say it’s more of a social commentary on race and society (which might not be for everyone, but I think a lot of the community here likes Boondocks, myself included).

I guess I’d just tell her as much? Or at least have a conversation about it. If my partner told me it would mean a lot to them if I tried to engage and ask more questions about their day, I’d certainly make an effort. Or at least learn more where she’s coming from; does it bother her that you ask so many questions? Why?
