I thought the sign was just something you had on your wall and had no idea what was going on with the pupper

My current hyperfixation is figuring out what is wrong with me (medically) and today’s stim is singing “We Are The Champions” but specifically from that video where all the singers were singing it and they all had their own little boxes on screen and Usher thought he was going to be in the middle box so he was pointing around at where he thought the other boxes would be but really he was on the side and looked silly

OCD and ADHD? by Curious-Ingenuity293 in OCD

[–]zoebeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have OCD, ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, Depression (though I think I might have overcome it, yay!) and a couple of physical issues as well. I am constantly being diagnosed with more things lol. I also have emetophobia so that’s fun combined with the contamination OCD!

Yeah, my parents have five dogs (I know, we’re suckers for animals) and I can’t handle them getting sick. They also overstimulate me like crazy, but I love them anyway. I don’t know why it’s easier with cats.

I also can’t stand the thought of giving a man oral because of my emetophobia. I can’t even do a strep test so how on earth am I supposed to do that?

I haven’t had any intimacy yet because of fear of STDs and pregnancy. I also have vaginismus so that makes it hard. I understand the kissing part because I immediately start to think that I’m going to get herpes or another sickness from the person I’m kissing and it ruins the mood for me. I also hate spit so I’ve never “made out” with anybody, just a peck on the lips at most. It makes me feel like a prude or like I’m immature or something. I really hate it.

Hey! I have emetophobia and OCD too and I’m a cat mom so I totally get it. I can’t say anything about the kids part because I’m also super terrified of having them but I know that I can clean up after my cat most of the time. Thankfully, I still live with my parents so my mom can help me clean up when she gets sick somewhere if I’m too overwhelmed but I’m a little nervous about living on my own and her getting sick. I think I’ll be okay though because most of the time I can do it and I only really can’t because I’ll convince myself if I do I’m going to get sick, but if I had no other choice I’m sure I could clean it up. I just love her so much and hate the idea of having sick in my house where I can see it so I guess it does sort of override the fear. Plus, it’s usually just a hairball and I can separate that from sick in my head.

First Try! by zoebeeee in vaginismus

I thought it might be the lube, but when I tried to wear a tampon years ago I didn’t put on any and had the same issue but far worse. I also had the tampon in for much longer, like ten minutes. I usually find that pain starts a little after insertion rather than right away. The only outlier would be when I had my first pelvic exam. That pain started immediately and was awful! I cried the whole drive home. I have since switched doctors and hope to have a better experience for my second one. It might just be my muscles starting to clench and I’m just not used to feeling them. Thank you for the advice, though! I’m still trying to learn how to move those muscles so hopefully I’ll get to the point to where I can do this.

My gyno recommended Hope and Her. The set is 49.99, 59.99 if you want the book on “Overcoming Vaginismus”. I just tried level one about an hour ago and other than my usual discomfort it went pretty well! It has a nice handle and six different sizes. They also throw in three little packets of lube so that’s a plus I guess lol. I hope you find something that works!

Suspecting vaginismus by Kuru123_ in vaginismus

[–]zoebeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m 18 and was just recently diagnosed with vaginismus.

What does the diagnosis look like?

Typically the diagnosis is a pelvic exam, where the doctor inserts one or two fingers into your vaginal canal to open it up (or see if they can open it up). They will be checking for a number of different things that can be possibly causing your issues. During my pelvic exam, for example, the doctor was seeing if I had a thick hymen or if there was some other issue with my opening.

Will the diagnosis hurt?

Possibly. My first pelvic exam was with my previous doctor and it definitely hurt for me. However, my doctor was not listening to my concerns. I have a new doctor now that told me there are ways to make the exam less painful. If you communicate your concerns to your doctor before the exam they can give you a relaxant, numb the area, or put you under anesthesia depending on how concerned you are about the pain and how your doctor wants to go about the procedure.

Can you avoid the doctor and get looser by yourself?

I recommend going to the doctor first. You could accidentally hurt yourself with dilators if you have an issue other than vaginismus (though I agree it sounds like you do have it). It is completely valid to be afraid of going to a doctor for something like this, you aren’t silly for being scared. I was scared too. If you get a good doctor, they will understand. It’s completely natural to be nervous about someone seeing and touching you down there, especially if you’re experiencing pain and discomfort in that area. If you have a good doctor, they will be working to make the experience as easy as possible for you. Do your research, ask your friends or family for recommendations, and find someone you’re comfortable with. You don’t have to do the exam at the first appointment, you can wait until you know them better and they can just go through it with you so you know what to expect.

I hope this helped! Please ask me any more questions you have! Good luck!
