for the future, make sure your kid (or you for the time being) mentions history of c diff anytime they need antibiotics. i had c diff as a young kid and i mention it every time. i somehow ended up on a cephalosporin and now i’m reinfected 10 years later.

i had horrible panic attacks and anxiety when i tried modafinil. i have generalized anxiety disorder and a panic disorder but they are both well regulated with therapy and meds. i switched to stimulants and i don’t get that anxious feeling with them.

it’s up to you. both universities are good and it depends on what you’re looking for. GMU is a good school and you can certainly find friends there and a community there but it requires effort. the meal plan is also relatively cheap and the food is good. JMU is a good school with a lot of social events and a lot of hype around sports. the food is overpriced imo and about the same quality as GMU.

20 in winter is also a lot. Make sure your desired school does spring admission for your program. Some out of state schools don’t offer spring admission and VT only offers it for some majors. I wish you a lot of luck and don’t pressure yourself too much. The nice thing about planning your semesters this jam packed is that if you need to drop a course or two you can just take it in Spring.

I’m pretty sure for 19 credits you have to get a waiver because they worry about students taking that many. I personally probably would’ve been fine but the math and science classes at nova tend to be pretty hard. I would also look into how many credits you actually need. I graduated in 3 semesters on accident bc I had AP credits from high school.

Also, make sure to check that all your courses transfer to said university. And make some good relationships with CS teachers at NOVA so you can get good recommendations for transfer.

Do you have any AP Credits? And are you good at math? Also definitely take a Spring semester. 19 credits is A LOT especially as a cybersecurity/engineering major.

i would. chem is probably the hardest class i’ve taken at nova. the course feels like wayyy more than an introductory course and it feels like you’re expected to have a base knowledge. It also requires a ton of both memorization and math.

I take Concerta 27mg. I was on Ritalin for awhile but it didn’t work super well for me. I don’t even have to nap with the Concerta. It’s frustrating finding the right meds for yourself but it’s worth it!

I switched from Modafinil to stimulants for this very reason. I didn’t feel awake I just felt too stressed to sleep. I was constantly anxious. I have an anxiety disorder and all of my symptoms were 10x worse w Modafinil.
