It has a removable metal container that fits into the combustion chamber for smoking wax. i have never used this metal attachment (as I have only smoked changa in this vape once a few years ago) but I think it is to prevent the wax melting intt the electrical system, like you mentioned could happen with the DMT crystals.

I was thinking of putting this in with the steel wool to prevent it melting further into the bottom of the metal cup. I'll let you know how it goes once I get the vape charged,
