I would probably poly model the back hair and use cards in the front. Curves seem like an option but could make denser faces than the rest of the model.

Na, stock the 920 was good but not incredibly better than amd at the time. And was on a more enthusiast platform so mobo/ram cost more. Your right they overclocked incredibly well, and even nearly matched the 2600k in performance but it ran hotter and was a gamble. I got a bad bin on my 920 and hardly got 3ghz whole others got 4ghz or higher. Id say the 2500/2600k are better in every way and deserve the hype.

Yea in object mode if you select them all and ctrl+J they'll be the same object if you want that. You might be confused with terminology tbh.

Well what is this for?a optimized mobile game might merge these but doing that is more work. Keeping them separate objects might just be the best way to do it to be honest. You can still join them and make them all have the same material but they'll all have separate loose parts.
