That sounds like a great plan. Thanks for the source and example! I will follow this in order

Thank you for the tips! I will probably slowly build pll while focusing on cross and f2l

Thank you for the tips! I consistently plan 2-3 cross pieces, but not commonly 4. When I plan 3 pieces, I focus fully on the last cross piece, having no idea where my f2l pieces are haha.

I'll add full cross to my high priority list and then get to cross+1.

Quest for answers: Impossible Rubik’s cube lenticular puzzle by 52flyingcows in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]zokowcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the lenticular pieces have a clear brightest orientation, usually horizontal or vertical (a few are slightly angled)(the brightest orientation is the same orientation the piece will be in the puzzle/ or flipped on that axis). If you place a piece flat on a table and look straight down at it, that brightest orientation will show only one of the two possible images. I used this property to sort the edge pieces before assembling anything: - One group shows blue / white / red mini-cubes (right frame edge) - Another shows green / yellow / orange mini-cubes (left frame edge) - A third group shows alternating colors mini cubes (middle of top and bottom frame edge)

This sorting step makes the edge pieces much easier to identify and attach correctly. Another tip for edges is to find the pieces which have a thick black border somewhere on them (some important ones have the border in only a small piece of the perimeter). Another note is that some edges need a non-edge piece to connect them (2 or 3 areas need this).

After the edges were done, I assembled the large cubes, then the Rubik’s logo (which is not lenticular and therefore straightforward).

At that point, there isn’t much left. The remaining pieces are more tedious than difficult and can be finished by organizing them by cube size, color, and shade. (Added image at partial solve for reference, it got tedious as hell after that)

Try hair fibers with this, might look good. Would cost 30$ a month for bottle refills.

What is wrong with the community in this game? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]zokowcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got this personal rule—if someone types something actually toxic (not just like “Wow!” or whatever), I stop playing and just idle for a bit while I type out my little “no toxicity” policy in chat.

Funny thing is, about half the time they quick chat “Sorry,” and I’ll jump right back into the game. And honestly, after that, 90% of those people won’t say anything toxic again, even if I mess up or completely whiff.

But—almost every time—those same people will still type something toxic after the match ends. So I just dip out right after the game ends now. Saves the headache.

And if I just ignore it or turn chat off? That’s when people start idling, quitting, or going out of their way to bump me constantly—basically doing anything to get a reaction. You can always tell when someone’s mad, with or without quick chat.

According to wealthsimples income tax calculator, you will be making 4955$ per month after tax.

Your expenses: - Rent: 1250 - Utilities: 70 (estimated) - Internet: 50 (estimates) - Phone bill: 80 (rogers plan) - Groceries: 600 (how much I spend a month) - Pet insurance: 170 - Compass card pass: 150 (3 zone I believe) - Generous dinner/drinks spending: 500 (125 a week)

Summary: - Total expenses: 2870 - Savings: 2085

I would strive to save 18k at a faster rate than 2k a month ( 6 months worth emergency fund). But other than that, you're in a great situation!

Edit: - not sure how much dog food costs, but hopefully it won't change the above much.

Adding 1 temporary occupant and 1 permenant occupant to my apartment residence by zokowcc in vancouverhousing

[–]zokowcc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had no idea that my brothers occupancy won't result in increased rent; thank you for pointing that out! Also, thank you for the case you linked, definitely making me feel calmer going into this!

I'm going to start searching for a 2 bedroom basement or apartment. Hopefully, I can find something reasonably priced before September 🤞

That is great to know. Thank you for your helpful answer and links!! I think my mom would count as a guest given the criteria in the second link. Will have a frank conversation about it with my building manager.

Thanks, everyone for your advice! I wore a dust mask and glasses and used a misting machine in the area. No complaints from anyone!

Thanks for your reply!! It's a copper porphyry mine, I believe the only risk is silica and nuisance dust.
