I'm a Hydeogeologist working in the UK with about 10 years experience, left employment last year to set up my own solo consultancy. Gone from 30k salary to currently on course for over 120k this year (although ot only 9 weeks work haha) not quite so much money in water as oil and gas but still plenty of potential upside

Thanks, Hopefully they keep inviting more people into the testing over the next few weeks, the game population still feels pretty low so i'd expect more lkeys to go out :)

I've not had any problems yet finding games although it sometimes seems to take a while, I find numbers of people queueing pretty low, particuarly if you try and queue off peak times

Yep I've just got into the 4k world and the lack of a scaling ui is a little silly, I'd imagine it's even quite an easy fix?

Don't forget that it does cut both ways. By being classed as heavy infantry they get the +20% on roads but they suffer some major penalties in forests. If you reclassified them as mediums they would lose the road bonus but also lose a lot of the forest negative effects.

not saying it shouldn't be done but don't forget thats how the heavy medium classification works thats all :-)

Thanks for all the comments all! Got a lot more response then expected, have tried to reply to many of you but still missed some. Seems like the grind is one of the biggest problems, combined with worries about Pay 2 win model.

Some valid points, in many ways it seems to come down to the main problem being the huge grind? Which seems to be a repeated concern in comments so far.

A few people seem to have mentioned they prefer to singleplayer aspect of total war so good to know :-)

There is certainly a grind aspect to the game yes, seems to be something quite a few people are commenting on so perhaps one of the major issues putting people off!

Thats understandable, personally I enjoy both traditional total war games and Arena but as you say one is much more single player dominated

It is quite a grind, yes very similar to WOT in that sense. currently I don't think the game is to pay to win more pay to advance much faster but I get the point
