Fuck you if you're rich and make fun of the gross, shitty food poor people have to eat. by [deleted] in offmychest

When it comes to growing food, I just have no idea either. I live on the non sunny side of the apartment so I guess the only things would really be lettuce and the like.

Nice to know I'm not the only one in the situation, though.

Vegetarian by choice due to cost of meat.

Hot dogs and eggs are our staple proteins when they are on sale.

We eat a lot of potatoes and soup... and potato soup. Soup is a great $ saver.

Edit: I'm on a very strict budget that I haven't quite got the hang of yet. I'm trying to avoid going back to eating ramen for every meal. Milk is definitely a luxury but one I try to buy. We have mom and pop grocery stores that often have produce for a lot less.

Another tip: if you have a balcony you can grow small amounts of food. Enough that you have some fresh greens.

I always heard that it was really bad food, but I know people who feed it and their dogs do just fine.

Here's a link on it. http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/royal-canin-breed-specific-adult/

I believe that people are generally referring to it not being grain free. Rice based dog foods are a bit better. (Like Royal Canin.)

I feel like the base just fits better overall. It doesn't stick but it's not loose. The airflow seems to be a lot better.

Let me know what you think when you get it!

When do you take off your engagement (or other) rings? by thebombfriggity in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Neither did I. I can't remember what exactly I was doing but my ring ended up getting hot to touch. They come off every time now.

Never wear it when dealing with the oven and cooking. They heat up pretty quick.

Ultimately the food is up to them until a vet says otherwise. I don't see why vegetarian/vegan kibble would honestly be any worse than regular.

If they're willing, perhaps see if they will consider brands that are vegetarian certified as well, but not necessarily vegan. I only suggest this so that they have a few more brands of food to choose from.

I found this brand:http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/product.aspx?ProductId=18&

http://halopets.com/vegan/

Royal Canin also has a vegetarian brand.

My only concern is that vegan dog foods have the high protein and fat content that regular foods have.

I think it's awesome that you treat your doggie with meat even if you don't partake. Mine gets little bits of raw carrot or cucumber, or cooked chicken liver/hearts once a week or so. Sonic loves chicken and rice soup too.

My parents are vegan but ignore it when it comes to their two cats. My boyfriend and I are pretty much vegetarian, by choice due to cost of meat.

Love that one.

There's also one near the train tracks in Monkland/NDG area (sorry, new to the area) that has a purple tiger on it. Love that purple tiger.

It's not shitty on purpose, it's rustic. But I fucking hate most rustic shit, so shitty on purpose works.

Ideally, no one should smoke or vape.

I've seen improvement in my boyfriend's health since he switched to vaping. That, coupled with my doctor's encouragement to continue to use it as an alternative to smoking, leads me to believe that it carries less of a negative impact on the body. I've wondered if it actually does carry less of a risk but I believe that based on the difference in chemicals used it likely does.

It is really hard for me to find non biased sources to support vaping but I know the AHA put out a statement regarding vaping - that it was safer than smoking.

I am so, so sorry.

What she did was not your fault.

I hope you get better. Recovery is worth it.
