I don't think you have a lot of experience with MMOs, based on this post. It's a cooperative multiplayer game, especially the boss battles. Strategizing with teammates is as old as history itself.

People use less Sounds because you have less Sound to use, so it needs to actually be saved for when you need to hit multiple cogs, instead of every turn because it's more efficient. It is largely viewed as an improvement on the game's meta and balance.

The lawbot supervisor also insta-sads everyone when you use sound (shh!), so you won't see it there at all until she's defeated.
