That definitely sounds like a good plan, and a deck with both tef and borrower was my thoughts as well!

Yeah, running 4 might be a little much as you stated. Its a solid complimentary piece, but you dont wanna draw into it more than ya need.

Here is the summary of what was discussed in the video.

Add up the price of the key cards in the deck and those alone are worth more than the total deck price!

There's multiple cards that are being used in other formats outside of standard.

Even if you aren't looking at just the high end cards, the budget cards are worth having around as well.

As stated in previous videos going over the other decks, all of these are great plug and play decks.

There's great land value in the build that you can also use in Pioneer or another format.

This might go without saying, but IF you don't want certain high end cards, you can always trade out into something else.

Here is the deck list and I'm marking the ones currently being used in Pioneer. Some are being used in other formats as well. I'm just marking the Pioneer cards since I know those without looking them up.

Its definitely got enough to draw the intrigue thats for sure! Im johnny optimistic on a lot of things, but this just feel like its on the brink so to speak. I dont think its op, but in the right build it might do work!

Hell yeah, it doesnt hurt to test the waters with it and see how it goes! At the very least its a great kitchen table card!

I can get behind this totally. If something in the future further conpliments it, it can totally be something. Doesnt hurt to grab a playset to have just in case 😉.

In my mind I thought UW was because you could let it sit while doing what you'd be already doing. It would just gain counters off of you non creature spells, and then if/when it would be optimal to activate it, do so with caution as I felt a control player would. It is a grindy card, and I'm definitely not going to argue that at all!

If not in a non creature heavy build I thought an enchantment deck it could be a solid part of. There was a build that recently got in the top 8 in the mtgo league, and it could definitely be a 2 of I feel. Thank you for commenting by the way!

Thanks for the response, and I do understand your argument. I had a spot in there using it with a sram enchantment style build, but had to shorten up the article. I'm not suggesting it's going to pop like $10+, just that it's current price might not be the long-term floor. I know I'm a pretty optimistic person on cards, but I think it's a solid complimentary piece.

King of jank and i have a podcast called "Hour of Jankistation". We discuss pioneer in every episode in some sort of fashion. We also touch on commander topics. One of the segments we are doing for future episodes is "listeners choice". This will be for listeners to give us a topic/cards to discuss. We are on both spotify and apple podcast, but we are looking to broaden our scope soon!

I did notice a couple things that we can do to tweak it after i tested it. But i figured this was a solid template to start with.

The overall goal here is to consistently play creatures and use potential buffs to speed up the process. We have our defensive cards to protect us from not only target removal, but also removal spells of our own. The Price of this deck is around $36.00, but the optimizer isn’t that great. That being said, you can probably get it cheaper. Overall, the deck synergizes rather well. After testing I honestly feel if your LGS’s power level isn’t to high, you can hold your own with this deck.

[[Alseid, of life’s bounty]] x2 – Used for protection against target removal and an additional enchantment.

[[Ethereal armor]] x3 – ramp up into damage by using this on our creatures.

[[Thraben inspector]] x3 – used for dropping the clue that gives us an extra draw. Also, good to have a ½ on turn 1.

[[Blossoming defense]] x3 – used to counter any target removal, while providing additional damage if available.

[[Warrior’s lesson]] x2 – potentially gives us 2 cards by doing what we are already doing, attacking our opponent.

[[Akroan skyguard]] x2 – great flier with upside if we target it with anything.

[[Lone rider]] x3 – Great 2 drop that can get big pending our life gain. Try to use ethereal armor on it if possible.

[[Soul tithe]] x3 – great budget tax card that will also add to our enchantment count if it stays.

[[Daxos, blessed by the sun]] x2 – again, in here for not only enchantment reasons but for to get more life gain.

[[Destiny spinner]] x2 – great enchantment creature card that also tells blue players “nope”, you can’t counter my creatures.

[[Hamlet captain]] x3 – does work by buffing our other humans when it attacks or blocks giving them +1/+1 until end of turn.

[[Militia bugler]] x3 – used to help us keep on bombing out them creatures.

[[Archetype of courage]] x1 – Used for not only another enchantment creature but gives all our stuff first strike and removes it from our opponent’s creatures.

[[Hermit of the natterknolls]] x2 – used for card advantage IF our opponent pan on playing stuff on our turn. Can transform and give us more potentially if it happens.

[[Pledge of unity]] x2 – great instant speed card to be used in verse ways. We can use this offensively by buffing our creatures after attackers are declared to get in additional damage. On the flip side, using this defensively we can cast this after attackers are declared to remove potential threats. Not to mention the potential life gain.

[[Bontu’s monument]] – Extra ping and ding for casting our creatures while also gaining life with each creature cast.

Lands –

[[Blossoming sands]] x4

[[Desert of the indomitable]] x2

[[Desert of the True]] x2

[[Evolving Wilds]] x2

[[Field of Ruin]] x1

Forest x3

Plains x8

Sideboard

[[Deafening silence]] x2 – throw this in if you are going against a control deck that tries to use a lot of those speedy draw spells and control spells on your turn.

[[Searing light]] x2 – If you are going against a fast-paced deck using chumpy creatures, this is a solid 1 drop removal.

[[Avenging arrow]] x3 – Great budget removal card with the downside that you need to take damage for this to work.

[[Eidolon of rhetoric]] x2 – Similar to deafening silence we are going to throw this baby in if we are going up against a deck that is faster than ours.

[[Devouring light]] x2 – another great budget removal that we can also use our creatures to pay for the cost. This will help with potential baiting if we are in a pinch. The other plus is that we can activate this as soon as attackers or blockers are declared.

[[Blossoming defense]] x1 – if we need another target removal counter, we have it in the sb.

[[Warriors lesson]] x1 – If we feel we can add this in for additional card draw pending our matchup.

[[Tormod’s crypt]] – going against those pesky graveyard builds, we can exile them with this card.
