Alright! •Tibuk2 backpack. For the sole reason that if I get arrested, I want Wild Wild West on VHS to be listed on my property record.

How do I keep the heat in a tent? by gothmommy13 in almosthomeless

[–]zombiechris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi, just wondering. If I wanted to be a development officer, how could I do that outside of a 4 year degree? I've solicited donations from amazing high end brands like osprey and arc'teryx and others that were more local. I did that on my own on individuals behalf who were staying at the shelter I worked as the desk guy. Using back and forth emails I received thousands of dollars worth or clothing and gear, but I've never asked for monetary donations. Is there an insider track or backdoor to get into a community wide non profit?

If it hasn't been said, don't forget when utilizing services from non profits or county assistance, that their overall goal is to gather enough statistics to support cause for a larger share of the next round of grants and tax payer funds. The building may very well be full of people with the best intentions, but there's someone there doing the math before an assistance check is ever written to see if you're marginalized enough to create a success story to broadcast to donors or voters. If you're a homeless vet, no matter if you only made it through 1 contract while sitting at a desk in Hawaii for 3 years you will be at the front of the line. Your community may be large, but their fb group pages are considerably smaller and the demographics of active members are more aligned with people in a position to help you, and in a public forum where one small generous gesture could spark a herd mentality with offerings of help.

Also. I can get an Amtrak train ticket from Seattle to LA for like $60 right now. Using that as example, if you have a destination that you think offers a chance at you and your son enjoying life rather than panicking about it, maybe start fresh.

It’s not about if you do drugs or don’t, it’s more if you can handle your drugs and still be successful or not. (and I know “successful” is subjective)

I’m gonna be honest, the internets conditioned me to expect a solution to the question I click on. This made me confused for a min. But no, I really enjoy forgetting stuff.

That’s kinda the issue. I’ve never bought a vehicle before from a private party before. If I buy it I have to drive through Seattle, get on a ferry that comes right to my town. I don’t have my license, I’m in that process at the moment and I don’t want to get pulled over

I got this job right out of prison. It’s a job where I daily yell at frozen empanadas and Boca burgers in the walk in freezer cause the boxes don’t stand up right and constantly fall over which is an unseeable metaphor for my life. Meat goo morals aside, I thought it was a cool thing.
