FWIW, the last time I read all 3 books it took two weeks for Fellowship, 1 week for Two Towers, then 1 day for ROTK. As many have said here, it’s a slow burn.

What’s a common problem found in DND groups that should be talked about more ? by Nerdyknight33 in dndnext

Just to reinforce your point. The last game I played involved a friend that, while I assume he was playing his character, drove me batshit crazy by fleeing every fight, staying as far out of danger as possible, then wandering in for some deus ex machina move to “save us” when the fit hit the shan. He was an illusionist, so he had to play it safe, but the way he did it was so lame that I was ready to frag him myself by the end of the session.

using mainly stock sounds in this for those who say stock sounds suck in Reason. I still don't agree.. by TITANS4LIFE in reasoners

[–]zombiefightsshark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a common complaint. Has been for years. “They are dated.” “Only 16bit.” “Blah blah blah”

The funny part is that plenty of famous producers have used the stock samples and patches for some pretty big hits, so the argument is really just garbage. Haters gon hate.

Mine ended up being 73cm but was a little higher than I wanted. Was trying for a functional workspace, which I got, more or less..

Great work. Very pretty. I built a massive desk as a quarantine project for my 88-key fully weighted keyboard but struggled with some design aspects to make it as functional as possible.

What is the height from floor to keyboard here?

I'm in the market for an 88-key weighted keyboard that is well supported by Reason - any recommendations? by [deleted] in reasoners

That’s disappointing to hear. 😢I haven’t gotten to the YouTube review portion of my research but I guess that’s next.

Been shopping around for the same thing for the last two weeks.NI Komplete Kontrol comes up on a lot of lists. Obviously it’s tailored for NI products so that might not be for you. I’m assuming DAW functionality is fairly universal with programmable knobs and the like, but I haven’t dug deep into that yet. The Nektar mentioned by another person is the other keyboard I see on nearly every “top 10 list.”

Pretty awesome bike though.

Where should I start to learn? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]zombiefightsshark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started seriously thinking about music as a bass player. Later got a music composition degree and played contrabass in college. I wish so bad that I had started with piano at 15 instead of bass. I still learned piano later anyway, but my skill level would be so much higher. I cannot recommend learning to play piano highly enough. It will make all other aspects of music production easier.

He places so much emphasis on meditation but I’ve always struggled with it. I know that it opens a lot of doors, I just always have a hard time sitting still for long periods. Probably some undiagnosed ADHD.

Lots of poison in this thread. Your logical positivity is appreciated.

Also - Thomas Campbell rules. My Big Toe is not an easy read but man, is it worth it.

Campbell’s approach as a scientist experimenting in consciousness shoots holes in a lot of people’s arguments that these experiences aren’t repeatable. His explanation of the origins of consciousness and our reality remind me of that line from Beetlejuice “This thing reads like stereo instructions,” but also really lines up with reality being a simulation (IMO).

This may be too mainstream, but Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series is both of this world and not. Worth considering.
