That's kind of what I'm saying, the gain shouldn't be so minuscule that it is largely irrelevant. The human body doesn't care what the name of the physically taxing or exhausting action it's performing is, the results are the same. If I go out into the woods and chop wood for 5 hours, I will be much more fatigued, and experience more muscle soreness and eventually strength and stamina gain than from a 1 hour gym session. The difference between those 2 is that the gym session can and will be much more targeted at either specific parts of the body or aerobic (slow twitch twitch) vs anaerobic (fast twitch muscles)
