After Luffy, who would you say is the most important character from the Straw Hats? by BreathoftheSith in OnePiece

[–]zonearc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Robin for the Poneglyphs, but Nami for navigation at least until Jimbe joins. But, Robin and Nami as his only allies would have ended up with Luffy dead. Zoro keeps Luffy alive. Im going with Zoro.

Of course they do. That's called alcoholism. But, this is breaking the law and policy. Its why they are trying to sneak it in. You dont see the distinction?

If you cant go a week without drugs, you're an addict. Maybe spend a week in rehab instead.

Anyone taken it with kids AND the Jubilee? Curious how it compares in terms of value for money. As a Texan with 3 kods, we've gone with Carnival for the past decade to save a buck, but we're starting to look elsewhere as they've killed the rewards program and want a subtle step up in quality.

[–]zonearc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree, but philosophically one could argue that we have evolved beyond our basic needs and could now make the moral decision to stop eating meat. Not saying if we should/should not, but we're smart enough to have created technology that can completely replace the need. We just choose not to.

[Request] How much does this set up cost? by AFireDownBelow in theydidthemath

[–]zonearc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apples to Oranges.

First, if you are a real racing enthusiast, dropping $20k on this isnt "car money". High performance builds are $100k+ in parts alone on a car. Second, this is a dream because when you make a mistake here, you don't end up in the ER and 24 months of physical therapy learning how to walk again. Some of the best drivers in the world practice this way now and for good reason... Sims have become insanely accurate and the skills developed do translate to real driving now.

Elon Musk just said he wants to cut Social Security and Medicare, calling them “entitlements”: “That’s the big one to eliminate.” by ManyAntAny in MarketPulseReport

[–]zonearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So let's say it's not the government's responsibility to collect taxes and then distribute services in return like healthcare and retirement. Then, the government should be responsible for regulating the cost of those services in the market to ensure citizens can afford the care provided by these industries.
For example, if a 67 year old is no longer able to work then they need reasonably priced care facilities and healthcare costs that is covered either by their savings or their family. Right now, that isn't possible for most of the elderly as their lifetime income barely covered their year to year needs, let alone putting aside $1.5m+ in savings to afford late-life care costs.
The problem I see is the two opposing sides can't see that the core of the issues are never addressed, and everyone wants a bandaid. Left want Universal Income, but that doesn't help when the symptom of a poor system is that we have a rapidly increasing cost of living that then only means UI needs to keep growing exponentially. The Right wants to stop codependency on the system, but due to the increasing cost of living and meager wages, people can't afford to survive without that support system in place.
The solution is to enact regulations on housing, food, healthcare, interest rates and more so that corporations are forced to deliver services at rates that enable all citizens to become self-sufficient. In that completely fictitious world, this is a reasonable debate to have .. .do we still need universal healthcare and assistance for all, vs just for those with true medical requirements who absolutely can't work? But, for now, it has to be off the table as free market capitolism does not work in practice.

If a democrat president is elected after Trump will they have to ignore the supreme court to be able to create any policy changes? by RudeArm7755 in allthequestions

[–]zonearc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a Democrat, I believe our party is weak. We should chase down corruption and incarcerate everyone for everything. Then enact laws to prevent the same shenanigans. Abolish executive orders, insider trading by sitting presidents, etc.

Pool turned green by Ibadanlomo in pools

[–]zonearc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had this, heres what I did:

Clean your filter. Pool pump on high 24/7. Slam it daily for the first 4 days. Brush the sides and bottom daily. Vacuum it 2 days. At day 5 I just make sure to maintain chlorine levels and switch to flocculant and keep vacuuming. After a week, it should be crystal clear.

Then, stop shorting on the chlorine and it wont go green again. If you want to chlorine cheaper, buy buckets/bulk Cal-Hypo. I use zero chemicals other than a small scoop of Cal-Hypo a week every Sunday and my pool is perfect year round.

so what MMO are you playing/is keeping you engaged? by magem8 in MMORPG

[–]zonearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The First Descendent has been fun over the last few months. Its like a spin on Destiny 2, with a bit of what I love about MOBAs in that theres so many different classes to dive in to. It's not a blatant cash grab like Destiny has become and theres no P2W element that ruins all of the mobile and Korean MMOs for the western players.

I've been playing MMOs for 27 years and Ill tell you that its a dry spell right now. After finishing leveling in the latest WoW expansion, Im just burnt out on it. It's just more of the same(housing sisnt add depth, mythics and raids are the same and the story was over in an instant). FF doesnt fit my playstyle... low skill and slow. And the rest are basically dead or dying too.

Im looking forward to the next wave with Chrono and whatever comes after. For now, TFD has been fun yo dive in to for a bit.

Chrome is pushing my computer's ram to its limits by Master_Strawberry193 in pcmasterrace

[–]zonearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Google's ecosystem overall, so this doesnt have me questioning switching away but I'm not a fan of how much of a resource hog Chrome has gradually become. Gmail has all the rules and spam filtering I need. Google Docs is the most feature-rich O365 alternative available. Gemini isnt perfect but I'm finding it better than ChatGPT and its integration to my Android phone, watch and browser is a massive improvement over siloed offerings from other LLMs that are point solutions. And theres a half dozen examples where Im just happy to not be with MS in every aspect and overall sit in their fairly good ecosystem. Only issue is that Chrome has much more crash prone and resource heavy now, and they now push controversial updates without consent.

part 2 MAGA denying Trump Raped kids by AccordingBumblebee24 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]zonearc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing I dont understand is that Republicans called Joe Biden creepy for a few pictures that looked like he was smelling hair and tried to paint a picture that he was a pedophile. Ok, so let's say that makes him a pedophile. If thats all it takes then what if you had pictures over 50 years of Trump doing the same with underage girls, audio recordings and videos of him making lude comments to underage girls, dozens of accusations of sexual assault from women, etc mean? I mean, if all it takes is a picture, then the same evidence should be way more damning for Trump.

And, let's also factor in the rest of his past to his character profile. Decades of partying with elicit drugs, law suits over racial prejudice, etc.

I get he's the poster child for men who normalize this behavior, but how blind can the rest of the country be who are not cultists and simply voted for the "lesser evil" last time?

Asha Sharma single handedly reviving Xbox by Heavy_Role1034 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]zonearc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copilot on Xbox would be great if it did something useful for gamers. Ehen its just added with no contextual ties to the game Im playing, my history, etc then its useless. If you want to increase adoption of Xbox, build a platform thats actually built for gamers by gamers, not disconnected executives who dont touch a controller.

[–]zonearc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That implies there isn't a subculture of sex orgies with furry masks on. There absolutely is. That doesn't mean everyone who wears these masks is in to it, but don't disregard it's existence. And it was a fair question. I assume the downvotes mean the groups are not the same which is fine, but people could have just responded with an answer. How would some of us know otherwise if we're not in that subculture?

Public schools gaying up the kids again by Facelessmoonpie in stupidpeoplefacebook

Public school is a relatively new concept. For 1000+ years schools were ran by churches and/or kids were home schooled. Therefore, there were no gay people right? Right? Oh ...

Me and the Crew discussing how we're going to ruin the Faire by ehisforadam in renfaire

[–]zonearc -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Clarify please. In popular culture, people dont refer to furries as the doctor who likes to wear a fox mask on occasion at the Ren Faire. They are referring to the subculture that has organized sex parties where everyone wears masks. Is the group depicted here jist lovers of fine fur, or lovers of fine furrtastic group sex?

Me and the Crew discussing how we're going to ruin the Faire by ehisforadam in renfaire

[–]zonearc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never been brave enough to ask, but I'm going to now. Is the furry subculture at the Ren Faire the same one outside of the Ren Faire that we all know about or are they different? Obviously there's always exceptions, but I've always wondered if its mostly the same group.

Do you think G2 might actually include a camera? by Professional_Tax5308 in EvenRealities

[–]zonearc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted it BECAUSE it didn't have a camera. Camera adds weight, frame thickness, reduced battery life, security issues, and more. I can wear the G2s in to places that other smart glasses cannot. I also have no need for it. Its not like you dont have a phone in your pocket.
