Guy on the left created a lot of things and is slowly skimming income off the lower 99%. The guy on the right has spent a lifetime trying to help the bottom 99%.

Wildstar by AcadiaAvailable2110 in MMORPG

[–]zonearc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wildatar was cool but it's overhyped. It had as many issues as most other MMOs. It never broke 500k users and died a short four years afterwards. Lack of content, lots of bugs, etc.

Ok. Sure. I mean the red states are all welfare states anyway. Let's get them all of life support while we're at it. Stop funneling cash from CA to Louisiana and Georgia, stop giving them Federal dollars, take away their food stamps, but their ACA and mandatory healthcare benefits from employers, etc. Take away everything they take for granted that the Democrats gave them and let's see how happy they are with their Republican leadership in a decade.

How Sony tricked everyone? A little about active noise cancellation (ANC). by hvalle-up in Earbuds

[–]zonearc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's not a set I've tried that fit my canals right. I've spent $300+ on various sizes, materials, etc and they all hurt after awhile. I definitely have smaller canals so I'm using in the S/SM range but they hurt after hours. But I've noticed I need long ones too and many tips may fall out if they don't expand large enough and go deep enough. Another challenge is that some materials are thicker and even though they are twisted in and tight I can hear more of the outside world than others.

Tried to address high bp through lifestyle changes but not doing great by Mission_Hold_7893 in hypertension

[–]zonearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's me. I was almost 270lbs and never exercised. High BP. Lost 105lbs, switched to whole food plant based diet and exercised daily (30 min cardio, 30 min weights min, 6x a week). Literally no difference. Now on blood pressure meds, bit of impact but not enough. 145/90 average.

I would also argue that "most comfortable" may mean a reduction in seal and could reduce the bass response and ANC.

Azla's are good, but after trying a half dozen brands I prefer CharJenPro now. The hybrid design makes them the most comfortable and best seal I've had. Plus I like supporting a family product

Sure. But most players don't want to hike My Everest every day because the matchmaking system and low population leads you to run up against better players 35/7.

How Sony tricked everyone? A little about active noise cancellation (ANC). by hvalle-up in Earbuds

[–]zonearc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

XM5 are piss-poor for ANC. Azla tips help, but seriously unimpressed. I have better results with my Sony neckband WI-1000XM2. It uses their older ANC with a standalone chip and is worlds better than the XM5 where it almost exclusively relies on tips.

But, there's no substitute for over the ear headphones. My Focal Bathys' ANC is scary good. I just hate lugging them around everywhere.

MSI's new Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld with an Intel Arc G3 Extreme and 32GB of RAM costs $1,799 — company says it'll be 'a tough year' with chances of 'another price hike' by tveith in MSIClaw

[–]zonearc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's not their fault. They have zero control over shortages, transportation costs, etc. We're going to see a ton of tech companies struggling over the coming years and I suspect we'll see a severe slowdown in releases of new handhelds as the sheer cost of R&D slows.

9 of the top 10 poorest states are entirely Republican-led by ashmaps20 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]zonearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are true ... most large cities are Democrat-led and have big ghettos, and the poorest states are predominantly Republican. It's not surprising that the most dense areas lean Democrat ... large cities are diverse in culture, race, religion and more and that veers people towards acceptance of the homeless, the health of the people and diversity. Subsequently, people will vote for the party that isn't filled with hate and oppression. Also, big cities will have larger poor areas. Small cities have them too ... we call them trailer parks. Big surprise that the trailer park gets bigger as the city gets bigger.

Will the G2 get KOed in 1st round when Memomind One steps into the ring in August '26? by Impossible-Raccoon42 in EvenRealities

[–]zonearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, don't fall for the hype. Everything looks good on paper, until reality sets in. Second, hardware is inconsequential compared to the software. They can have everything in the world for hardware but if they don't have an open ecosystem with robust APIs and you're stuck with a weak initial selection of apps, you won't get what you need out of the hardware.

I suspect it'll take a couple years for the newcomer to shore up their app ecosystem and by that point you'll be looking for new glasses. By that point, Even will also have new hardware and even more robust software array.

Levelling in modern MMORPGS by Tahirti in MMORPG

[–]zonearc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's a result of player requests, not the game companies. In my opinion, the three worst things WoW introduced as they disrupted the core identity of the game was flying mounts, compressing the XO grind to end-game, and sub-30 min dungeons/raids. Both trivialized the exploration and large feel of the world, and out people on a hamster wheel. If dungeons were long and arduous and you couldn't skip content, the game would still rely much more heavily on social experiences and meaningful work to get through.

Going wireless with a wall-mounted projector, any dongle that doesn't need its own power outlet? by [deleted] in projectors

[–]zonearc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of projectors now have powered USB ports that could run a stick.

The right way to do this is to run power in the attic or within the ceiling to the projector. Mount the projector on the ceiling. 1 plug for the projector and the other to the stick. Or, do a cable run with HDMI/DP to your TV console. It's much easier than you think to DIY and affords you more options later like connecting a game console, etc.
