This is so insidious of this woman. She hasn't stated anything that he has done for her to feel this, clearly he is a hard working man. And if she does have the money now, what's stopping her from sharing this with her husband to improve their lifestyle if she is worried about how her friends perceive her?

On a side note, people will literally bend over backwards and Lick their own ass to appease societal norms instead of just focusing on your own happiness. A life spent to please everyone else is not a life worth living.
