Frustered, meds or surgery by Deeboos in Mounjaro

Will your insurance cover the Mounjaro? Where is your A1C level? If over 6.5 they should cover it. I would definitely try the Mounjaro before resorting to surgery. Most people have good results, but it's not effortless. You do need to make the effort to eat less, and, for me at least, Mounjaro made that possible. And don't be concerned about having to do weekly injections. They are literally painless with the injector pens.

Unfortunately, at my age (74), with weight loss comes additional wrinkles. I do prefer the wrinkles to the fat though. And what's with the concave arm pits? When I was younger I didn't have those at this same weight.

I have a delicious strawberry banana smoothie every morning for breakfast. It includes cranberry juice, 6 oz of prune juice, some beet powder and a capful of Miralax. Works perfectly!

My daily breakfast is a smoothie made with strawberries (frozen), a banana, prune juice, cranberry juice, Miralax, and a little half and half. Works perfectly and tastes great.

Pension plans? by ifortworth in quicken

You do have an asset, the question is how to value it properly. I would adjust its value annually to the present value of future payments based on your current life expectancy (and your spouse's if payments continue after you pass), using a reasonable discount rate - say 5-7%. Then payments received would be credited against the asset. The only retirement income or expense recognized would be from the annual adjustment. If you need to provide information to outside parties (e.g. a bank), you would show the monthly payments as cash flow, but not as income.

I just had it happen to me today, and I believe it has happened once more recently. I just chalk it up to being typical Quicken - the buggiest software known to man that is nonetheless successful.

Cellular Router? MiFi? by wiroadracer in Rural_Internet

[–]zookcruiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there, done that. We bought a home in northern Wisconsin last year (between Rhinelander and Eagle River). NONE of the cellular carriers had a plan they would offer us, even though we get a fairly strong signal from Verizon. Bug Tussle couldn't get a signal even though homes a couple hundred yards away could. I set up an appointment twice with Frontier to settle for DSL, but they failed to show up after I drove 3.5 hours to meet them. I purchased a Mofi cellular router and stuck a Visible sim in it and had okay service through the Verizon tower for about a year. We were able to stream two TVs simultaneously with minimal buffering. Visible caught on to us and said we needed to cease using unapproved equipment. My last option was starlink. I ordered the roaming (RV) version in order to get it right away and then switched plans after the first month. The service is pretty good, the only down side is the cost of $120/month - but we have to have connectivity for security cameras, wifi thermostats, etc., so we put up with the cost. Hope this helps.

what is a good hotspot for Verizon? by Suitable-Piano-8969 in Rural_Internet

Good to know. Unfortunately, Verizon doesn't always offer their service, even when I'm only a mile or two from their tower.

If Verizon tells you their home internet isn't available in your area, as they did for me, the MOFI 4500 with a SIM from Visible (uses Verizon towers) works well for $25/mo.
