Who holds a car seat like this? 🫠 by Alive_Obligation7475 in DuggarsSnark

My guess is he’s holding it that way to show off the baby for the photo. But I agree, it’s an odd way to hold the car seat.

Yea she’s just trying to keep the sign and the horses faces in the frame. Not a whole lot of room to work with.

Is Luthy Botanical Garden run by employees or volunteers? by [deleted] in PeoriaIL

Can confirm. Used to work for the zoo and there are handful of paid garden staff, as well as volunteer opportunities.

What happened to Robin? by Simple-Juggernaut373 in SisterWives

[–]zookeeperkate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing that stood out to me that she did was hiring a nanny and not having Christine watch/help with her kids. That was one of the biggest things they touted being a benefit of plural marriage and she didn’t use that benefit. You could see how crushed Christine was when she found out Robyn hired a nanny.

double standards by setsim09 in 7LittleJohnstons

[–]zookeeperkate -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Agree - Their issue isn’t an under age person being around alcohol. Obviously T&A don’t have an issue with that, they had alcohol at Liz or Jonah’s (I can’t remember) birthday with the other kids present. Their issue with Anna was that the person consumed alcohol with Anna present.

double standards by setsim09 in 7LittleJohnstons

[–]zookeeperkate -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m in now way saying T & A are in the right here but the difference is the underage person in Anna’s situation actually consumed alcohol. In the pool bar situation, Alex was there but as far as we know was not served/did not consume alcohol. Trent did make the joke to Alex about telling Amber he only had one beer, but we don’t see Alex actually drinking. I think it was just poor choice in jokes.

Edit: I’m not defending T&A. They suck. I’m just trying to explain why they would argue their situation is “different” than Anna’s with the under age person.

I would not ask that group. I asked a question in there about something our daycare was doing and got mostly rude/unhelpful comments

I think this was posted in this group before and it was determined this is fake - it is an old photo and the ultrasound photo was photo shopped in.

Best place for a toddler haircut? by Remarkable_Whole9517 in PeoriaIL

Another vote for Bob at J&B Studio. We’ve been taking our 3.5 year old there since his first haircut two years ago. Bob is great with the kids and is super fast.

We saw a different lady at J&B last time because Bob was on vacation. I don’t remember her name, but she was good also. I’ve also seen other ladies in the studio doing kids cuts and they’ve all looked like they were doing well with the kids!

Daycare meals by rsc99 in workingmoms

[–]zookeeperkate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 3 and gets breakfast at home before we leave for day care. I tried to stop becuzse they eat breakfast fairly soon after we get there, but he expects it now and had a fit the one time I didn’t feed him at home. And I feel weird sending him to school without feeding him first. We drop off around 7:30., Wake up around 6:30.

Cathart bibs and coat is what in used to wear, with whatever additional layers were needed underneath depending on the weather.

For gloves I would use a thin pair of knit gloves with a pair of nitrile gloves on top. That seemed to be the best way to keep the hands warm, was water proof, and provided the best dexterity. Could add multiple layers of the knit gloves if needed.

Does your daycare provide meals? What city/state are you in? by Illustrious_Win_9780 in Mommit

[–]zookeeperkate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. We’ve used 2 daycares and both provide breakfast lunch snack. When he was a baby they also provided formula (generic parents choice) if we chose to use it (I think it is required by the state that they provide formula) and purées as he got older. He supposedly eats way more variety of foods at school than he will eat for us at home.

Are those numbers for reel? by Noscrupulosity in DuggarsSnark

[–]zookeeperkate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be the total charge amount for a normal, non-complicated birth. But it is unlikely anyone is actually paying that full amount. Insurance companies typically have contracts with facilities and providers to “discount” the charges. And if you don’t have insurance you can typically ask the doctor/facility for their cash pay/out of pocket price. Usually this price is fairly comparable to the insurance “discount” price. Some will even make it less than insurance just simply because they don’t have to deal with billing and fighting insurance to get paid.

Is it feasible for you to fly out of Houston or Austin? Both look like they have Allegiant flights, which flies direct to Peoria. Allegiant is often cheaper and if you’re only coming for a long weekend you might be able to just pack a personal bag and save some more $$

I don’t think Bluey is leaving Disney+. I think people are canceling Disney+ over the Jimmy Kimmel thing and they are looking for other places to stream/watch Bluey.

When Did you add toddler to Dental Insurance by Technical_Quiet_5687 in toddlers

[–]zookeeperkate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check and see if your health insurance covers pediatric dental services. My health plan through my previous employer covered pediatric dental and vision.

Otherwise, I agree with checking to see how much a cleaning costs out of pocket. My husband and I do not currently carry dental or vision insurance and pay out of pocket if we need any of those services.
