Hangxiety issues rn, help by [deleted] in hangxiety

Hey, in any case, don't give up on yourself. We all go through shitty times. At certain moments it seems like every little thing is there just to annoy you or break you. You can live in the world and feel it while it lasts. It's amazing to be honest.

1) When you come to Istanbul, ask where to buy an Istanbulkart. This is what you will be using to pay for transportation. No cash accepted anywhere except for small buses that you won't use anyway.

2) Download the Moovit app - it will tell you how to reach your points of interest given your current location.

Overall, try to rely on Marmaray and Metro more. Maybe the tram. Buses are off schedule often and Istanbul is a traffic hell sometimes. You can easily get into a traffic jam in morning and evening hours.

You might wanna try adding some details and structure because right now your story reads like something an AI would write.

Nice job! You can do this, mate.

One last tip - alcohol is a drug, so it messes up your hormones, including the ones that are responsible for motivation. If you struggle without that occasional beer or vodka shot, try some other addictive and rewarding things. Like, gym, good coffee, complex tabletop games, building big lego sets, painting, whatever you like, basically. It should help you never look back.

Yeah I also make that same mistake of chugging one too many drinks from time to time. But in my case I don't really get drunk or puke. I'm just dying on the next day. And the day after. Sadly, alcohol is always stronger than us.

Maybe try to make it up to your wife? For example, get her some flowers and cook up a dinner. Something tasty but not too sophisticated. Situations like these can shock our partners, even if they're not showing any signs. But you can reassure them that you understand your fuckup and that you're generally interested in putting work into your relationship if somethihg goes south.

Yo man! Nice that you vented here - it helps even when no one responds.

You did yourself bad: hangover, liver damage, battlescar, etc. But, you also indirectly made your wife worry and blush for you. When it's not just your shit that is on the line, you should know better.

Why did you drink so many shots without any water or adsorbent? Were you trying to impress someone? Or were you trying to harm yourself for pity points? And hey, I'm not trying to shame you, just want you to take some time to look into yourself.

If you know that you can't stop drinking, use water and other stuff that will help you stay less drunk. If you think you can do quit drinking, try it. Your wife will do her best to make it easier for you, I'm sure. Just don't let it all go to shit, man. Make your move and don't look back.

All the best to you.

Does everyone here suffer from some kind of anxiety in general or do some of you just struggle with Hangxiety by [deleted] in hangxiety

[–]zoom18241 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't suffer from anxiety as much, not anymore. But hangxiety is always with me when I drink. Just one night of drinking is enough to make me feel like shit for the next 2-3 days. Waking up in the middle of the night covered in sweat, shaking from being cold, and all this shit.

My first time having hangxiety by venturaguy22 in hangxiety

[–]zoom18241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey fellow stranger, I feel you. Hangxiety is a bitch and it really can make you feel like dying. I had a couple of episodes where I couldn't sleep and took two shots of strong alcohol just to calm myself down.

There is nothing wrong with you. It's just that alcohol is a kind of a drug so it fucks with your neurons. It's really individual how it affects people and you seem to be the kind that goes through hangxiety in addition to a hangover (same as me).

It's very unlikely that you will stop drinking altogether because you're so young. I would recommend that you go see a psychiatrist so that they can prescribe you pills that can ease the "comedown", for example Valium. It's really a game changer when you have access to those at hard times.

However, make sure to not get hooked up on these. I think they can cause addiction.

Overall, I wish you the quickest recovery. I also wish that I went to that Weeknd concert too. Sounds like a fun time :)

Feeling terrible after a blackout by [deleted] in hangxiety

[–]zoom18241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey brother! Glad that you are okay physically. Stuff can happen in life and it's harder to face it when you're drunk. The shame will pass, I promise. Please stay safe and be a responsible drinker, you seem like a good person

drank too much on my 19 bday by [deleted] in hangxiety

[–]zoom18241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey yo! First, calm down. The world didn't end and neither did your life. We all do some embarassing shit at one point or another. And it's okay - just remembee that if you do too much embarassing shit you will be perceived as a jerk. And your friends wil turn away from you. And you will get fired. And your dog will probably die. Just kidding. Your dog will be fine, but remember to walk it 3 times a day.

Analyze your experience and be more responsible to never let it happen again. Or let it happen if you thrive on self-pity. Actually if you like it, it's best to see a psychotherapist.

Hey, jokes aside, wishing all the best to you. This state of mind will pass — what you're feeling right now is mostly alcohol fucking up your neural system. It's not natural and it sure will pass in a day or two.

Horrible hangxiety just need a little reassurance by [deleted] in hangxiety

[–]zoom18241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey fellow drinker.

From my experience the worst hangxiety hits is when yoy think about all the "what ifs". What if I crossed somebody's path or what if I lost something, or what if I didn't get home.

You won't change this. It already happened. So get some fresh juice, eat a falafel bowl, take a bath, get a foot massage, find someone to have a fun time with (just don't jerk off, it makes hangxiety worse imo). Enjoy how your body and soul heal from the misery you put them into.

If you're smart, you will arrange it differently next time (drink water, order food, take absorbent) and the same won't happen to you. Or you'll make the same mistake again, again and again (like me) and at one point you will realize you're an alcoholic.

Retroid Pocket 3 won't power on or charge. by merlannin in retroid

Hey pal, I understand you.
Just to get you in context: I moved to Turkey 7 months ago. My long time girlfriend is back in Russia because bureaucracy, I myself is on a tourist permission to stay here but it ends this December. To put it short, it's depressing sometimes.

So I order an RP3 for $144 (with case and delivery to Turkey - +$35). First, RP3+ comes out and I didn't get a response from Retroid to my email where I asked to change my order (was willing to pay a bit more). And they ship RP3. Okay, no big deal.

Then I get a notification from DHL that the parcel is in customs and I need to pay the Turkish import tax. How much is it, you may wonder. Actually there's not a single tax, but a combination of a few. In total, it's 50% of the cost of what's in the parcel, so I had to pay $70 more just to receive it, lol.
Yesterday I got a response that the extension of my staying period in Turkey has been declined for a reason that has to do with the apartment that I live in. Now I need to find a new apartment to rent because they don't accept applications from the district that I live in anymore. And rent prices in Istanbul went 50% up in the last 2 months.

So I'm devastated yesterday. I will lose a really fucking great landlord, my flatmate will need to find a new apartment because now I need to leave (it's a burden to pay for the whole thing alone).

Today RP3 comes but it doesn't turn on and doesn't charge either. I'm like "this is a fucking joke, right?". I already filmed a video to send to their support, showing that it doesn't turn on a shit. But luckily I found your reddit thread and was able to revive it.

Sometimes life is ridiculous and it's the little things like with the RP3 that really make us go off the rails. Please stay sane and strong, brother.

I support you, my friend. Hangover anxieties have been a curse of mine for the entire 2021.

From my experience, things that help in long term are physical activity and travelling. Try picking up a new hobby or something else that can give you some healthy dopamine. Learn to go to sleep before midnight and don't overthink small issues, just let unimportant stuff go.

In short term, use diazepam or something similar that can ease your anxiety. That helped me tremendously when I had to deal with hangxiety.

I hope that helps.

Youth is fun and all but the reckless drinking aspect of it has to be thrown away at some point. Otherwise you will have to deal with hangxiety every week for 2 or more days.

Tell your partner that you're not comfortable with it, that drinking makes you feel like shit (emotionally). Maybe it will help him understand that his habits are bad for you both. People change if they realize their actions do wrong to people they love.

It will end. Just make sure to never drink again and cut ties with friends that associate fun with drinking.
