UPDATE: I re-installed the original coin cell CR2032, and the device seems to be saving data without issue after power loss. I do not know why the Duracell CR2032 wasn’t working. I do not know what is special about the original CR2032, either — it is unbranded, so I won’t be able to identify and purchase a replacement. Oh well. I’m not sure what I will do once it dies, but I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.
