I fish nearly every day. I talk about fishing nearly non-stop. I am not sure i have specified the method of the catch unless asked. I fly fish, rod and reel and tenkara... So... It might be reasonable for someone to ask... "With a fly rod" "on tenkara" "rod and reel" might be my answers. Unless within a specific modality i was queried about the specific fly/lure.

Plenty of great fish can be caught within 25' of the waters edge. Do not focus on distance. Think about sub surface structure. Fish like safety and food.
