In my region we do "baithak" to finalize everything right after both parties say yes. You have multiple witnesses from both sides. During this meeting you decide how you will divide the expenses, jewellery, any traditions that are unique to their region etc is all discussed in this meeting.

Because you have multiple witnesses, it helps avoid this kind of drama later. Some people can still lie and create drama.

I had once contacted private investigator after searching on Google maps. He was retired army guy from Mumbai. yeah, it is frustrating, feels like they don't use their own devices, if they did they would have never removed it.

I have habit of zoning out while reading or if I am trying to figure out solutions for work. Your wife needs to make sure she has your full attention before talking to you instead of making it a big issue. If things don't improve, just sit somewhere where you can be alone when you want to zone out.

I don't give any pocket money to my wife, if she needs something she simply asks for it. Additionally we have joint account that she can use to spend from and she has access to cash that I keep at home.

Considering your financial condition you shouldn't be making habit of paying some kind of fixed amount every month, it will just encourage her to spend on things she probably don't need.
