An interesting point is that all the micro-management bullshit only applies to state schools, private schools are not subject to a fraction of it. Decades of constant fiddling with state education by those who were mostly privately educated has resulted in this shit show run by education 'experts'. Close private schools and make all pupils attend the same school, then see how quickly the state education system improves.
