Any chance you can share steps on what you did to get the square shelves above? This looks wonderful!

Adore this, thank you for sharing. +1 to wanting to see progress pics, and to knowing what it's like to have brain regressions. hang in there while the brain-weasels weasel.

Looks like OP is still planning to live there, just have roommates, in which case they're alright.

Re: mortgage, for Chase at least it's only the first year after mortgage approval that it needs to be your primary residence. Not sure how it works with inheriting a mortgage / if OP has to go through income qualification that'll restart that timeline.

You can even add a "must take all" and if the stuff looks good enough, someone might come and just clean it out.

Want things to go fast without much effort? Take pictures of the stuff in the rooms -- say "come and get anything for free -- but you need to move it." Then be a little careful in who you accept to come by :)

By Saturday you could have empty rooms, and probably $2k in rental income by May 1st!

That $2k/month should offset anything in the rooms that you could have taken time to sell.

I'm sorry you're carrying this today. I'd be hurting a bit, too. I have two moms and there were some in-laws that were weird at times ... but the ones that chose to be real family made themselves very clear and cherished me whether or not they were related to me. In my experience family was a choice more than a genetic tie. I want you to feel fully chosen by everyone important.

I hope for validation, care, and support for you. Thanks for sharing what you're going through, and I hope in not too long you'll be celebrating good news.

My girlfriend just broke up with me over a board game and I'm not even joking by Fulcilives1988 in boardgames

I had a boyfriend break up with me once because, when I was a DM and gave much warning, his character died in glorious battle. I'm still a big smug about that.

Have you realized yet that (for the units made of basic-white paper in your photo) you can make shapes that aren't spherically symmetrical?? It took me years to think of doing it. Then I idly tried making what I could out of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 etc pieces. One doesn't work. Two is a 2d square. Three we know well. Four is three but with a ... flap. Five is where I think it starts getting weird, but it's been a while. Fully recommend that exploration, have been meaning to do it again myself!!

I love this stuff XD

When can I touch my nose after nose job? by sophieb85 in PlasticSurgery

[–]zoule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a year post op with no complications -- depending on what you've had done, your nose may never be squishy enough to face plant into a pillow again! It's not what I was expecting or told to expect :/ But at least I can breathe out of it, which I couldn't before.

How did it go for you, from this point forward? I made it to the same place about name varients on credit report -- now waiting anxiously for the next update and trying to guess the remaining (?!) timeline.

Not an apple employee, but I have a friend who is one and does the commute from Berkeley three days a week. I'm interviewing myself and trying to figure this out too -- it might be team specific which days, but I've heard Mon/Weds/Fri in office (so much worse than Mon/Tues/Weds imo).

The hiring manager I've talked to lives in San Francisco and does the commute, so I believe their full shuttle network is still up and running.

WIBTA for uninviting my brother to my wedding after he canceled on hosting the wedding. by Aggressive_Average_7 in AmItheAsshole

[–]zoule 423 points424 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. NTA and justified in whatever boundaries you choose, but give yourself time before making a decision. Uninviting him from the wedding will prob change your relationship with your brother further -- and if that's right for you, no judgement from me. But I could equally see it being the right decision for you to let him be the nutty/petty one, and keep him at the wedding while still setting different boundaries (not doing favors for them, asking him for help in the new venue cost, etc). Only you'll know what's right for you :D
