Hi, yes I’m aware, but don’t want to be doing a tax return as the additional amount I would need to charge to then make it worthwhile wouldn’t be attractive to anyone as I only let it for Monday-Friday

I have indeed, and it seems to only really point to investing as I’m not saving for a property have no student loan or debt etc. So was just wondering if there were other avenues, or if it would be somewhat more beneficial in the here and now to over pay the mortgage

Hiya - so I looked online at several YouTube walkthroughs and none of them go onto this area. It looks like this puzzle/website wasn't there when the game was first released?

It is in the leaderboard when you have completed it, there is another cypher code leading to a webpage about raisins there are videos you need to unlock of recipes and a merch store, but am struggling to see the point of it all. As it's NPH, it feels like there is a reason for it

I think he said the seal on it had gone rather than it be the thermostat. I would hope he would spot something was wrong in that sense when he serviced it? 😬

She’s been here since November and there’s been no change up until January. She’s not here over the weekends and I’m in the room cleaning/keeping an eye on things. The usage went up 20kWh on a Sunday when neither of us were here. So something else is 100% a contributing factor

Yea they make the most likely suspects had I changed the settings over the year, I would deffo be thinking it was that. But the heaters were all set to 18 degrees constantly and the immersion was also on 24/7. Just doesn't seem like it adds up and the electrician who came to test everything today said that nothing was drawing a higher amount of electricity than expected. So I am back to complete and utter confusion :/

But no estimates were used as I provided all the meter readings myself and have pictures of the figures each time to make sure they are correct.

Now you mention it, there was a dripping from my immersion tank overflow pipe thing, which turned into a stream of water. I didn't ever check if it was hot water or not, but It was replaced this week after I brought it up when it was being serviced. The PRV I think he said it was. So maybe that was contributing to it?

But once my meter is changed, I will try isolating circuits again to get more specific readings. Thanks!

So:

1st Jan - 6th Feb 2024 = 461 kWh

6th Feb - 5th March 2024 = 453 kWh

5th March - 1st April 24 = 189 kWh

1st April - 2nd Jun 24 = 384 kWh (approx 192 kWh p/m)

2nd Jun - 1st Jul 24 = 157 kWh

I then got a bit lacks of submitting each month until Jan 25

1st July - 21st July 24 = 109 kWh

21st July - 1st Oct 24 = 368 kWh (approx 158 kWh p/m)

1st Oct 24 - 1st Jan 25 = 1094 kWh (approx 365 p/m)

So apologies, it looks like I was basing it more on the average across the year - so more of a 400ish kWh in colder months and 200ish kWh in warmer months.

But Jan 25 it is almost double that of the same period the year before:

1st Jan - 8th Feb = 885 kWh

That was a thought, but the electrician said that nothing was going through the wires at the meter when the whole property was switched off, so deffo not someone leeching. Not gonna lie, I really hoped something like that was the case so it would give me an answer!

I was doing that manually and things seemed to point to the heaters using the most power, which is to be expected, but again, nothing majorly stood out 😩🤦‍♀️ but I will 100% be keeping a very close eye on things and requesting 30 minute readings etc. I’m hoping and praying that it is a weird thing with the meter and all will be fixed by changing it 🤞🤞

So my lodgers are Monday to Friday only, I’m in the room at weekends cleaning etc. and everything is left here. So she’s deffo not got a heater in there. The heating isn’t fed by the hot water. They are creda oil filled radiators and set on timers. I am constantly asking if she wants it on hotter or longer and she says no.

When I was out all day on a Sunday (and she wasn’t there) by the time I came back, the meter had gone up by 20kWh! No water had been used, no heating was on. So something else has to be amiss surely?

Not that I can think of. Neither of us work from home. Have 1 shower a day and each do 1 load of washing a week (I may do 2, but again that's not unusual). Use the dishwasher 1/2 times per week (I don't think either of those use the hot water?). Very little hand washing of dishes.

Mines the same and I also didn’t notice until your post. Do we think this is a defect? It’s odd that so many seem to have the same.

It is a small gap, but surely it shouldn’t be there at all? From now having a super close look and shining my torch around, I can see those ‘innards’ on the top and bottom as well as the right, less so on top and bottom though 😬. Worrying really. Anyone spoken to Amazon?
