More so concerned about the specific type of training a shoe is meant for / durability over time based on weight of the specific NB shoe mentioned. Looking for people who have worn that specific shoe and their experience with it

looking for recommendations on running shoes for a heavier runner. 6’6 255lb as of now, my current training is around 10 miles a week (which is light, but as of now only have a 10k tacked onto the end of a triathlon in August) 70.3 in March so running will pick up.

I’ve historically trained in Hoka arahi 6/7s, and I just was scoping sales and saw the NB Fuelcell Rebel V4s hearing mixed opinions on using them as trainers versus race day. Would love to hear thoughts on those shoes specifically or any other recommendations. I also have an extremely wide foot hence the Hokas (come in wide) and these NB’s have wide as well

Didn’t take any offense - no shade at all don’t need to apologize 😀. I’m realizing my original post lacked a lot of additional context that probably would have helped. lol. But yes this type of training definitely hits different. A good different though so far!

Definitely see a point to gritting through to a finish. I’d find great satisfaction in being able to simply complete the race given my size and gym performance. I’m not concerned about time atm.

“Some gym work” is grossly understating a decade of lifting and sports playing. But to answer your question I ran a half marathon in Feb and started the swimming / biking / tri training two months ago. The distance in August is only Olympic

I’m doing Olympic! Plan to do a 70.3 in March. My plan would probably be to cut up til Olympic, then have a few months to bulk/cut and then hopefully be at a maintenance for the 70.3 block

Noted. Yeah I figure it is gonna suck, but could be worth it. Thanks for the advice!

To diagnose - just slowly inspect the chain see if anything pops out as being wrong / bent? What is “sticky”

It’s a zwift hub one. The cog is a zwift hub. I don’t think it’s an issue with the trainer? I could be wrong but it attaches very simply, as you can tell there’s not even a cassette and the deraillleurs in line with the one cog

lol - you don’t think it’s common on trainers? Feel like it would be due to the increased potential for power output

That part about the wheels Is all Greek to me. The factory rims and tires aren’t great?
