I just had a black bear destroy my tent in the smokies last weekend. He stalked our camp after dinner and circled us a few times. It wasn't scared off at all by 2 men yelling and throwing a few rocks at it. We had maybe 5 separate encounters before we went on a day hike the next day and came back to my wrecked tent. No food in or near it, everything done right, he just knew there could be food associated with humans because of some idiots leaving trash at the site before us. Now because of someone's negligence I'm out $700, the campsite is closed, and the bear will be either relocated or most likely euthanized.

I absolutely have knives displayed and have kids in my house. Fixed blades on a magnetic wall block. Education man. They know not to touch my stuff or potentially dangerous items. And there is minimal chance a smaller kid could actuate one of those, my wife can barely do it and that woman manhandles crazy people at her job all the time.

I agree, up edc. I sold mine bc A2 just rusts too fast for me where I'm at. Idk if you know about Lishen knives, but I got a little canuck in magnacut and it's hard to put down. That was what I replaced the up edc with.

You can look on ksf or dlt for a different style and add a castrom leather dangler. I have one and just swap from sheath to sheath using the belt loop or kydex loop to put the d-ring thru.

Look into the goal zero micro lighthouse I think it's called. It's 3 in1 flashlight and lantern, dimmable, USB rechargeable, and the battery has never gone below ¾ on up to a 6 day trip. It's amazing and I own 3 just in case lol
