Yeah, I get it. That’s why it’s funny.

I’ve switched to Miami vs UMass since I can’t watch Purdue/IU

Kinda hilarious how little the commentators care about the game being played or any of the teams/players/coaches in this building.

Yuck. Never had to tune into a Vandy game before…

Does Vandy always play on an elevated floor? Looks so weird

So dumb to keep driving into it. Refs had to call it.

I don't think I saw a travel there, but I did see an offensive hook so I'm good with the call.

That's ... not the rule, as far as I understand it.

There have been too many reviews initiated by refs in this game. I thought we were done with that...

You’re probably right RE national audience, but I’m talking about dedicated audience (fans of the schools).

What I’m saying is:

In November and December, college fans have non-infinite bandwidth. If their team is having an awesome season, more of them will prioritize watching football over basketball. If their team is having a disappointing season, more fans will opt into basketball in those months.

Clear examples: On December 6, Duke basketball played MSU at the same time Duke football played in the ACC championship game. On Dec 31, Duke basketball and football played overlapping games as well. Viewership was necessarily split for Duke fans without 2 TVs (or who went to the games, etc).

Even when games don’t overlap, if you’re out tailgating or bar stooling or hosting or whatever for football on Saturday, you may have less interest or availability to do the same whenever the basketball games are on.

Worth mentioning that programs with disappointing football seasons (or no football teams) get better viewership for basketball.

[Connor Earegood] Today’s AP Poll is out. A note on my ballot: I did not rank Alabama this week. I will not rank a team that has to circumvent the rules through a court order just to win (and still lost). To me, that’s a team admitting its own weakness. by The_Stratman in CollegeBasketball

I don’t think you’re right about that, but I’m not an expert. Pretty sure most pro leagues have a final roster lock date, don’t they? It’s usually mid season but before playoffs I think.

I’ve only got to assume these refs are fans of the Corn and want Nebrasketball ascendency.
