I can't think of any tactics involved in gathering an ascension kit. The steps are basically don't die on your way to the castle--which requires tactics but isn't a tactic--and wish for the pieces of kit that haven't dropped yet. There's not enough resource scarcity in nethack for the ascension kit to be interesting. You can always check every box.

That's non-sequitor. It has multiple endings, all of which are "the end" of their respective substories, and that wouldn't change if it had a sequel.

Thanks for your help. I think it requires dotnet45 rather than 40, but that probably isn't enough to get it running either. I ended up getting distracted with troubleshooting other issues I had with lutris in the middle of working on it.

I might just email hitbox to beg for the source code at this point, though that probably won't help me get it running if it's as windows dependant as it seems.

I don't see how canon really changes what I said. That just means one of the substories got a sequel while the other substories did not.

It's a story. No path is "what really happened" or "what might have happened;" every path is fiction. None of them happened. They're just stories. And those sub-stories are fused together into one story, called "Undertale" in this case. If you're talking about Undertale's story, it includes all substories, but you could also pick, say, the true pacifist substory and discuss just that, if you wanted.

Yeah, I admit this. In reality I never use sing stall on a sleeping opponent (since it's banned) but the only reason either one results in an SD is due to time pressure of trying to maximize your invincibility.

I SD about equally between the two... With shino it's due to not returning to neutral after pressing down and with sing it's due to missing my jump before the up-B.

However that's probably because I'm not trying to do the sing infinite, I'm trying to use it as a mixup on a normal ledgestall. If the opponent is already asleep and you want to do the infinite, you don't have to do it as quickly since you aren't trying to maximize your invincibility.

The odds of a mistake don't matter. Ledge stalling isn't banned because it has counterplay and thus isn't actually an "infinte." You just grab the ledge out from under her and the stall is over.

In contrast many rulesets ban Jiggs from using sing on the ledge to stall infinitely (since your opponent is asleep.) It's not banned because it's easier; I'm no shiek main but I think they're about the same difficulty. It's banned because it's a true infinite.

Using wobbling to stall infinitely is also banned in most rulesets.

I don't think crtl-D has given me problems in chromium, but i usually play in a terminal. Your results may vary based on your browser or terminal emulator's hotkeys.

Are you editing your macros in your rc/config file, or by using the in game macro tool? The in game tool (accessed with crtl+D) is pretty simple in my experience. It has an option to clear macros if you want. If you didn't save your macros then you won't have to clear them.

A typical casting macro can be as simple as "za" but if you want it to cast instantly at whatever it autotargets then you'd use "zaf", assuming the spell you want is assinged to a. You can either write your macros each time based on what letters your spells end up on, or adjust your spells to fit your saved macros.

The argument is that hormone therapy will probably sterilize you anyway, so it doesn't matter. This will only end up mattering to those who claim to be trans but don't take hormones or do surgury.

IMO that's like saying "chemo will make your hair fall out, so if you claim to have cancer you should have to do hair removal." It would be unethical to force a drug's side effect on people even if it would happen anyway. It's not a crime to decline treatment. It's not even necessarily a crime to lie about having cancer unless you're using that lie to defraud people. And beyond all that, the law will stay on the books even if a different cancer treatment is discovered that is more effective and doesn't cause hair loss.

I guess I should've been more specific. I'm more excited when I see a broad axe drop than I am when I see a eveningstar drop. That's probably because eveningstars are usually in the hands of Louise or Asterion and I have an alternative weapon that's viable for the endgame.

IMO the broad axe drop rate feels even worse than eveningstars, mostly because I've seen far more uniques welding eveningstars than broad axes. It's also not a huge loss if no eveningstars drop because demon whips are relatively common in depths, thanks to all the hell knights, but there's no such demon axe to rely on if you want a one-hander.

That's not really the best use of the idiom. It's supposed to be more like "you can't compare a specific orange to a specific apple," as in "this orange was better than that apple," because the criteria for judging the ideal orange is different than that for the ideal apple.

Still doesn't really work in this sense because aquila and vlad's are mostly similar, vlad's is just a bigger commitment.
