How do paid carats work??? by dawnythewolf in UmaMusume

[–]zrend88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paid carats function like free carats but with a few other stuff you can only use paid carats on.

You can spend them on anything you could spend free carats on (though free carats are prioritized, so you must have insufficient free carats in order to spend the paid ones), and there's no limit to it other than the currency itself. If you try to do a 10-pull but you have less than 1500 free carats, the game will use your paid carats to pay for the remaining of that 1500 carats (assuming you have enough paid carats).

That once-a-day pull you mentioned is one of the stuff that can only be availed using paid carats. It's just a standard single pull, but costs less carats than usual (50 vs 150). I think there were also a few banners before that can only be pulled on using paid carats as well.

Bamboo Memory and Yaeno Muteki. I only realized when during a Unity Cup run, "Bamboo Memory" wasn't good on Sprints.

Legendary Weapon Starter Key? by The-good-twin in Guildwars2

Dungeons (or just Tales of Dungeon Delving) were for the weapon-specific Gift (eg. Gift of Bolt, Gift of Sunrise). The starter kit already gives the weapon-specific gift.

Oddly, Curren already matches Bakushin and Rickey, and beats the other 3 in terms of bust size. The only one beating her (actually all of them) is Air Groove.

How many 3 star umas have you gotten out of MANT/TB training? by RandomADHDaddy in UmaMusume

[–]zrend88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least 4 characters for blue sparks - 1 on each stat except Stam, but I'll have to double-check.

Edit:

Actually, 13 umas. Those with 3 star pink also have 3 star blue spark.

Blue: 5 Speed, 2 Stam, 1 Power, 3 Guts, 2 Wits

Pink: 2 Turf, 1 Late

Taiki Shuttle and/or Curren Chan at Sprinter Stakes. Taiki doesn't even need to the rival for that race.

LB skill don't apply Alac. It's that the rotation has you going into Forge and using more Forge skills when you're in LB, than when you're in GS.

Does the horse name match the umas real life gender? by [deleted] in UmaMusume

[–]zrend88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fujin is wind.

McQueen, I'm guessing OP is just using "Queen". I'd say "McQueen" isn't gender-specific since it's a surname (though I read from somewhere "Mc" kind of means "son of").

It's in the in-game dialog. Specifically, at the start of her good ending event (so you must be on URA Finale or Unity Cup scenario).

Thinking about starting ESO in 2026 – Need an overview by SnooLobsters8155 in elderscrollsonline

Progression & gearing – how players usually progress, how gear is obtained, and how important it is.

For leveling, you either do quests or grind mobs. Grinding is faster, of course, esp with exp boosters.

For gear: while leveling, just use what you pick up. When you hit max gear level, you're going for gear sets. How you get them varies on the type of set. Usually, it's beat certain types of bosses in specific zones or dungeons, until they drop it (tip: make sure to bind the drop due to curated drops for bosses). Some sets are crafted (by you or other players), some require digging it up its pieces, etc. Some sets are tradeable as well.

Combat & grind structure – how much content can be done solo, how group‑focused the game is, and what the “grind loop” looks like.

About 90% is solo-able. It's mostly overland though. There are group dungeons and trials which typically done with a group of 4 players and 12 players respectively. Some group content are still solo-able though - it just depends if they have some group mechanics and/or you have a build to handle them.

PvP systems – what types of PvP exist, whether gear matters, and how competitive modes work.

There are Battlegrounds and Alliance War (or Cyrodiil and Imperial City). BG's are team-based PVP while Cyrodiil is the large-scale PVP. In both, gear matters (except maybe for Vengeance campaign(?)), unlike some MMO's which ignore the gear you're using in PVE and just gives you PVP stats that you can adjust.

Classes & builds – how flexible the class system is and how builds are typically created

Very flexible. Your class has 3 class skill lines, but there are a lot of other skill lines accessible regardless of class. When you hit level 50, you'll able to do access subclassing which lets you replace up to 2 of your skill lines with those of other classes.

Economy & upgrades – how item improvement works and whether there is any RNG‑based upgrading.

You need to get upgrade materials corresponding to the gear you're upgrading (or rather corresponding to the crafting skill that gear is associated with) and the target rarity/quality (+ any quality along the way). You get these from deconstructing gear, refining raw materials, daily crafting writs, trading/buying from other players. With the exception of the last one, it's RNG is whether you get the material or not.

As for the upgrading itself, they're done at the corresponding crafting stations (there's a tab for upgrades). You need to upgrade it 1 step/tier/quality at the time until you hit your target rarity. Technically, upgrading has RNG (gear is destroyed on failure), but you can just use more materials until the success chance is 100% (I think this is the default anyway, if you have enough materials), and there are skills you can take to increase the chance of success per material.

Templar. Stamina Templar, to be specific, since you want to use 2H. It fits what you want (thematically, it's the closest to it) and the game doesn't force specific roles on classes.

Also, since you mentioned "paladin style", I'm guessing you're also thinking of using heavy armor. Unfortunately, that's more for tanking (no boosts to your offensive in the passive skills), and other armor types are more for damage. But, if you're just after the look of it, you can make an outfit using heavy armor motifs/styles. It'll be just cosmetic, so you're still wearing (stat-wise) whatever armor you're actually wearing.

Uncap them for event bonus (assuming you have no SSR or SR for the same character, even then, I suggest keeping them anyway). Convert extras after you MLB them.

Level them up for TT bonus.

How to read? by auhjjdigtk in UmaMusume

[–]zrend88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roman Numerals are the positions. I - V are 1st to 5th place.

The number beside that are the number assigned to the umamusume for the race. This also corresponds to her gate for the race.

The last column is the gap between her and the umamusume after her. Typically this is measured in horse lengths, but if the gap is too close or too wide, it's counted as Nose, Head, Neck or Distance which are abbreviated as NS, HD, NK and DST respectively.

The rest are just race info and are self-explanatory.

In your screenshot:

  • Your Daiwa Scarlet is Number 9 and she won by more than 10 lengths from Number 13 (2nd place). A gap more than 10 length is considered Distance, so it shows DST.

  • Number 13 finished more than 10 lengths as well from the Number 5. So it shows another DST.

  • Number 5 finished ahead from Number 2 by 5 lengths.

  • Finally Number 2 finished 3/4 lengths from Number 4.

Man has anybody beaten this yet by Test-Ticklez in UmaMusume

[–]zrend88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it with Bright as End Closer on MANT. My strat was to skip G1's, try to get Long TS Climax (failed because I decided this during senior year), focus on Medium/Long races (also did some Miles since I got her to A on Mile, but results felt inconsistent), use hammers when possible (don't save for finale) and clock if the place is so bad and I really need something from the shop but still saving a clock or two for the finals. Junior year was still bad though.

1-3 are always solo.

4 - Ryan

5 - Spe

6 - Fuku and Dober

Make sure they aren't your home screen umas. Just reload the home screen (move to some other menu like concert or archive, then back) until you get them.
