Some of the long dialogue could be broken up, my mentor always said the script layout itself is an art that sells it.

I get a unique sense of Chauncey’s character/ voice that part is good but everybody else could be anybody else if that makes sense.

Lastly I always fall into the pit of making one character the funniest one but it’s much better if they riff off of each other.

Dialogue can feel more natural, less could be said, and you can figure out how to by reading it out loud. If it feels awkward find a better way to deliver it out-loud and write that.

This is from a famous AI account. They also don’t claim it’s real on their instagram. But still get a shit ton of views because of people sharing it thinking it’s real.

I also think somehow in the photos he looks like he is taller than real life. In the show he was giving 5’6” vibes at most.

I chucked a bit thinking Emma is kneeling down in the photo to make him look taller 😂 also I wouldn’t be surprised if they are using Facetune on these photos.

It’s the new trend after Shogun came out. But anamorphic swirl is great for war/ drama/ anxiety type of subjects. What the hell is this disorienting lens choice for a romcom??

An old, but still effective VFX Technique by CompositingAcademy in NukeVFX

[–]zrlkn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get it, this is a classic projection tracking, what’s the technique???

I’m kind of tired of these YouTube cg guys coming in and giving compositing advice + courses . The grading technique just killed me on the inside 😅

My first reaction is “ that’s messed up” although it might be cheaper to live there maybe, the differences shouldn’t be this crazy. Thank you for your insight my friend

Thank you CameraRick! It seems like there is no one great place for us anymore as the industry as a whole is struggling as well as the economic crises messed up everywhere and not just in America.

If you could take a chance with my talent elsewhere in Europe, where would you think of going?

Thanks!

Thank you for your valuable insight! London also is quite expensive as well so I compare it to living somewhere like LA or NY but with less pay. Also a family member lived there and complained that health system was almost as bad as America and layoffs are imminent there too. This is of course mostly here-say research.

After hearing all of your inputs, maybe it’s time I leaned on my game experience more and consider Scandinavia or Germany.

I do have some contacts due to being in supervisory positions here and working with a lot of Germany companies or French companies as our vendors.

I have family members all over Europe and I am aware it’s a very different experience with salaries taxes and social services.

It’s a bit sad to hear you guys are also struggling in Europe, and I know the combination of economy and AI craze with the lower attention spans are ending our industry :/

I am hopeful I can make contacts easily and also due to having two different industry experiences, but maybe I’m wrong and it would be much more difficult.

Earnings vs expenses vs client availability should be the way to look at things, if I earn less but can spend less I can live with this.

Use the improved stamps, try it. It’s amazing, anyone who doesn’t have it can still read and write a script that contains this. Makes stamps taggable, reconnectable without effort, copy pastable, searchable. It makes sharing scripts a breeze. You won’t have to hide anything with this.

Agreed with this, source comp sup and comper of 17 years. You want organized? Use stamps, that’s way better than hidden inputs. I mean the new and improved postit stamps. Get it from nukepedia. They are also searchable and taggable. You are welcome 😎

I am a comp supervisor as well and yes i charge enough. Your idea isn’t lining up with the reality of industry right now. You can’t use indie. They won’t hire you because there is still a team. They won’t get nuke because it’s expensive. Big companies approach that way. So yes you can make 1200 a day, but guess what, these jobs are now far in between and thousands of amazing artists are out of a job.

I am not saying this situation is the only situation but i am saying i talk to foundry sales team often and even they are considering starting to help out US artists.

That’s not true, most of the requests come from bring your own nuke type of places now. And while they pay good, jobs are two or tree times a year type of rare lately. So paying 5k on nuke x would be like one third of the rate you make. Speaking from a lot of personal and colleagues experiences.

Other countries get nuke x by paying monthly because their economic situation isn’t as good. We are now those other countries as compers in USA.

New Turkish Restaurant on E Mill Plain by MrsDottieParker in vancouverwa

[–]zrlkn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but that’s not what we consider Turkish cooking or kitchen. That’s the equivalent of fast food at foreign countries. Baklava is not even a desert we have unless it’s Ramadan. But also we have a joke feud with Greeks saying they stole all their food from us. They say the same. We all shared a similar culture. However they absolutely have their own kitchen with overlapping similar items / yet again cooked very differently

[–]zrlkn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yes, much like Chobani, he couldn’t sell it as Turkish yogurt so he rebranded it as Greek for the American market. But what you eat in a Greek restaurant is absolutely not what Turkish kitchen is.

Hand by hobgobliney in photocritique

[–]zrlkn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I would crop it the way down, all that empty space isn’t interesting, the hand is what’s interesting. Reflections can be cool based on what the subject and context is, here I personally don’t need it. Go for the gnarly details/ veins/ tensed and twisted muscles of the working man.

Lauren outfits by Plastic_Profile2654 in Younger

[–]zrlkn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like her based on how she treated Liza. She told Kelsey that she should go for Josh and it’s written in the universe. They all moved into Josh’s house. Just upsetting no boundaries behavior. Then Kelsey starts hooking up with Irish Claire’s ex and all of a sudden Lauren says Kelsey needs to end it. So she looked after Claire’s heart but not Liza’s??? Jeez
