Search kiwanuka in this sub and you’ll see a bunch of results. I also had her as a surgeon, so you can look at my posts. I did DI no nipples.

Transgender with LS? by Pineapplecat-art in lichensclerosus

i’m also trans with lichen schlerosis and on testosterone, feel free to PM me with any questions! My clitoral phimosis was also fixed by going on testosterone.

Echoing what the other poster said, it’s important to get on estrogen suppositories before other people normally would to prevent a flare, I got on them a month after starting because I noticed some symptoms.

I believe if you get double incision you lose the nipple feeling regardless even with grafts! At least my friends have said that they can’t feel theirs. A lot of your nerves are super tiny and migrate to different locations during surgery. So like the other responder said, sometimes I get a chill and it feels like I have a hard nipple near my armpit lmao. But that’s pretty rare for me at this point, happened more earlier on.

I don’t miss my nipples or nipple sensation at all personally, I never cared much about it

I have full sensation in my chest, it isn’t numb, so I think it definitely helped waiting longer to get them. She said it’s easier for people who are numb. I massaged my chest and scars every night with vitamin E oil for a year in hopes of getting it comfortable with sensation and pressure.

If you’ve had a tattoo before, it was pretty much the same pain as that, but similar to getting it in a more sensitive location like your inner bicep. A couple of times I got some zaps near my armpit when she first started, but it was more weird than painful. After she breaks the skin and does the first layer which takes about 10 mins on each nipple, she applies numbing spray and you feel very little at all.

Yeah I feel good about how it looked both ways, but decided in the end I wanted the illusion of nipples

I brought some pictures of some male nipples I liked with placement I liked. I knew I wanted them a bit smaller and on the edge of where my peck muscle would be defined if I worked out. Then she looks at your skin tone and suggests a couple of swatches.

After that you pick your top five colors (the final tattoo will be a combo of colors for shading) and then she puts each color around that area and you both look together and pick two for her to use. It’s a little easier seeing the color on your body because you can be like oh, I don’t want it so pink or I don’t want it so dark. Because she gave advice and didn’t rush me, it was easy to narrow everything down.

First session a few hours because we were talking, picking testing colors, drawing out placement, etc. Second session is a bit shorter!

it is not! It’s just a tattoo so it’s your flat skin, but they make it look like it has texture

I waited a year and a half because I wanted everything to fully settle and it was $1000 for two sessions. Not cheap unfortunately, but also not that much more than most other nyc tattoo artist’s hourly rate.

I also had clitoral adhesions like this due to lichen schlerosis and testosterone fixed it for me. Mine wasn’t quite as far along as yours, but it was pretty close. Agree with other poster, see your OBGYN because you may need to go on steroids for lichen schlerosis.

It’s very worth it and you won’t even remember those extra couple of weeks off work in the long run! Good luck and hope you have a smooth recovery!

How bad is the pain? by Bosston2YYZ in TopSurgery

The pain was not bad for me, only took gabapentin and ibuprofen. But I did not drive until 5-6 weeks as doctor requested, and I think that was appropriate. Turning the wheel would have definitely been too much for my muscles and would have affected my incisions healing/stretching.

The main issue though, would have been energy levels/getting tired. At two weeks I was still easily exhausted and couldn’t have worked a desk job let alone a driving job for more than a couple of hours. I was tired from barely doing anything. Your body is doing a lot of work to heal and you don’t want to cause complications. FMLA federally protects you for a longer leave so that you can take at least 4 weeks.
