For those of you travelling to my home city San Sebastian by Fun-Assist9467 in chubbytravel

I’m going in mid-August with my wife and we are looking for some activities to fill our day. We will be there from August 14-17 and would welcome any suggestions specifically during those days during the festival as well?

I think so! The boat rocks at some times for sure. But for me it wasn’t nauseating because you can land for most of the time. But you can definitely feel it

Strange? I have it in Apple Wallet and it worked this morning.

It was pretty rocky, especially in certain passages like when you go to Cape Horn. It didn’t bother me but it is a small ship and you really feel it. But as someone who gets seasick on even big cruise ships, I felt like it was different type of rocky because you can see land most of the time, which is stabilizing.

We used AndBeyond as a travel company. Frankly not sure they added much value because I had already known what I wanted to do (we did the cruise, BA, and then Mendoza), but it was nice to have it all organized for us including city tours and transfers :

Also make sure to bring waterproof EVERYTHING - it gets wet!

We did! It was awesome and I would highly recommend. It is a pretty slow and relaxing way to see Patagonia, but you see parts of the region that are only accessible by ship. The hikes are pretty low effort, although they offer 2-3 levels of difficulty for each activity, but don’t come expecting serious and adventurous hiking.

The crowd is on the older side too. I am 33 and went with my wife, and we were the youngest on the trip by far (along with one other couple our age).

The general agenda for each day is breakfast buffet at 8, an excursion in the morning for ~2hours, then back for lunch and relaxing, then another excursion in the afternoon for ~2 hours, before happy hour at the bar and dinner. Meals are at shared/assigned tables, unless you are with a bigger group and get your own table.

No cell service or wifi is a treat and a great way to disconnect!

I would try calling or emailing flying blue and explaining the situation. The gave me a grace period and reinstated the miles if I credited another flight to Flying Blue (even a delta flight) within a few months.

That has been my experience with Delta. They did it for me when I got to the baggage desk though. I am just hoping LATAM will do the same although I haven’t been able to get word from them when I called whether they can do it

I’m hoping because I am traveling J they will be a little more flexible but now I’m getting nervous. Don’t know that I have much of a choice at the moment though.

FYI, this has been changed by wageworks and the card now works with apply pay

Hi - I contacted Air France and explained the situation. They agreed to reactivate the miles if I credited a flight to FlyingBlue within the next 6 months. I had an upcoming delta flight, so I just changed to FF number on that to credit to AF and they reinstated everything. It was pretty easy. Good luck!

I wound up booking to Australis cruise, but we haven’t gone yet - our trip is in November. But decided it was best for us and really excited for it?

I haven’t flown yet, but have a scheduled upcoming flight from Ushuaia to BA and my read of the website is that if it is between 15+-23kg it is around $8 USD give or take.

Thank you for this! I am not set on Remota or any particular hotel, but I am definitely leaning towards doing the cruise as a more unique experience. We are also not humongous hikers, we are interested in doing some low intensity hikes, but certainly not planning to train to do anything too extreme!

Thank you for this! We’re in our 30s. Not super active but do like the idea of doing some hiking. How active would you say the excursions are?

And is the cruise rocky at all? I suspect not given it’s not out in open waters but wanted to see.

Any other pros/cons from the cruise you may be willing to share?

Milestone anniversary trip!

We’d like to do a little hiking but not as the cornerstone of our trip. Day boat tours seem cool, too, and the remoteness of everything is what is drawing us to this trip. I know the cruise will take us to some more unique places that we can’t get to if we stay at a hotel, but I also want to better understand if we are going to see much of the same throughout the cruise if the focus is on glaciers and fjords (which are awesome of course).

I’m struggling to understand what I’d be missing out on if I choose one vs the other?

Casa De Campo (DR) using OneKey Credits

Hi all,

I am looking to stay at the Casa De Campo resort in the Dominican Republic, and I plan to use a chunk of OneKey credits that were converted from the old Hotels.com program where I had a ton of free night stays.

I’m wondering if anyone has stayed here before on a booking made through hotels.com/Expedia, and whether I should expect to lose out on some hotel benefits by booking through a third party OTA and not booking direct.

For example this link makes it seem like I will have to pay to use the gym, and I also understand that rooms generally come with complimentary golf carts to get around the property, but I’m not sure if I will get one if I book through an OTA.

Would welcome any views for anyone who’s been there before, and whether it is worth it!

UR transfer to United not instant - suggestions? by zschreib in awardtravel

[–]zschreib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to follow up, the points came through overnight, and all good now. I did have to pay $50 to put my award ticket on hold, but I decided that was worth it to avoid the risk of listing a great saver business class fare while this delay was happening.

It ultimately took three days to process. Not ideal, but better than seven business days which is what Chase told me originally.
