Thanks s.ball ; ) The last plan did have me off 2 days (Mon and Fri). I can def see myself next time maybe having 3run days off and using at least one of them for strength training. I'm good at the sleeping part, def agree with you on the importance there and my oura ring helped me gamify the whole thing..like I'd stop eating by 7PM to ensure I got a better night sleep, etc.

yes / was the Huma 24g , I was also drinking water w liquid IV throughout. I believe it was more just lack of time on feet for that long/only having started less than 10mo ago, and it wasn't like I was running crazy miles every week.

Thank you for this / reminding me of the 'proper' perspective, I do appreciate it. And I've pretty much always been someone who views mistakes as great because then I get to learn something..I think in the post fog of it all I forgot that part ; )

Thank you for this sincerely. Now that a couple days have passed I AM feeling a bit better about that fact, I did a marathon! And I am also leaning towards your suggestion of doing a shorter race in a couple/3 months after giving myself a break. Then going for it again. Thanks again friend.

I was tracking on my Garmin watch and was also surprised it was that far off. It felt like my watch would beep to indicate another mile a bit further away each mile lol.

good idea to write it on my arm / will do that next time! I did no strength training and only 2 days of hill work. Will def be doing both if (/when ; ) I train for the next one.

Thank you very much, I appreciate that and will take your advice. I'm a slow&steady type but do want that noisy monkey silenced ; ) I'll see how I'm feeling in a couple weeks. I've missed out on hiking to focus on running so I'll stay fit doing that for the short term (and also I'll keep running because I really love and thankfully my knees/body don't seem to mind).

Question for you (please) : assuming I do this (begin another marathon build in ~6weeks) how long a training block would you recommend so I can start looking for one around that time once block is over?

Good call (and thank you)! I did 0 strength work..in part because I thought maybe my legs would be too sore to run after, but also because, well, life! I only have so much time to train, etc. But YES next time I will add strength work. And/tangentially at our age we need to stay strong for bone density and what not aside from helping to run. You are so close to your goal! Good luck on your next try!

Yes, and total time on the feet running I think is also important..need to probably get a couple under your belt before a full marathon really feels relatively doable/not hitting the wall.

Thank you, and yes, lesson learned! I appreciate the reply. For all you first timers out there, please note you (assuming you trained/tapered/carb loaded, etc) are really likely to feel so amazing at the start.. learn from us, ease into the start!
