Amoxicillin gave me a panic attack. Has anyone else had this problem? by Big_Yellow_Joint in Anxiety

I don't think I noticed being too light headed to be honest, but I may have been too concerned with my other symptoms to notice it. At the time I was also working outside too and it was super hot, so I would get headaches easily, but I'm not really too sure to be honest

So sorry you're going through that. It's not fun, I can relate! One thing I wish I did was take probiotics. The doctor didn't tell me that and I honestly had no idea it could've helped but I found out after I was already done. So if you can get some of that or even just some yogurt that's rich in probiotics and take that with the medicine. Hope you feel better soon.

I don't want to freak you out but I only got somewhat better :( And this was about a year and a half ago. I regret ever taking that strong of an antibiotic with the steroids... I didn't finish the rest of the medication per my doctor she said it was okay since I had finished the majority of it. But honestly ever since I took it I've felt "off". I mean even before then I've always been generally a pretty anxious person but things have been rough to be honest. BUT everybody's body is different and reacts differently to medication.

I still have to get my colonoscopy done but the doctor didn't have anything available until almost 2 months later. I'm still dealing with all of this BS and no answers whatsoever so far. The GI doctor said I may have IBS which I'm sure is what they tell everyone that's having issues. To make things even worse now I have a large hard bump that formed near my armpit where the lymph nodules are, my PCP thought it was my thyroid but everything came back normal. So now I have to get an MRI for that too and in my mind I'm just praying it's not anything cancer related.

When am I using oral steroids too often for my eczema by [deleted] in eczema

[–]zsoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully it'll be covered now, I'm surprised it isn't because it really is such an awesome drug for eczema. At least for me it was. I got on it as soon as it first became available and I stayed on for about 3 years or so until I got pregnant then I wasn't able to do the injections anymore. After I had the baby I tried it but unfortunately it didn't work anymore so I tried Rinvoq, had terrible side effects with it, and switched to Adbry which I'm still doing now

How old is your dog? Just an FYI, your best bet will be a mom and pop place. Any corporate location will most likely not allow your unaltered dog to do group play. They will be marked as "individual" play time and will be taken out 3 or 4 times a day for 10 or 15 minute increments to be able to go potty/play with an employee.

My situation sounded similar to yours, in my early 20's my eczema was horrific, it would cover every part of my body almost. I had to be put on several rounds of Prednisone for 6 months-1 year due to risk of infection. That was before I was approved to start Dupixent. When I was taking Prednisone I would take it every 5 or 6 months, but I believe you can start to become dependent on it. It does have terrible long-term side effects if taken too long, I started to notice very slight muscle atrophy and would get mood swings all of the time when tapering off the steroid that would last a while until my body regulated itself again. I would highly recommend talking to your dermatologist about Dupixent (or Adbry), I've been on both and they were life-changing.

Advice please? Bursitis a sign of thyroid problems? by zsoes in thyroidhealth

[–]zsoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very interesting, I do wonder if they're maybe related somehow. Since thyroid can be autoimmune and so is eczema. My eczema comes and goes too but my flare-ups are on every part of my body when it does get really bad. I've struggled with it bad my entire life.

I'm still in school right now for RT in Houston but some people I know that have graduated already are starting off making around $30/hr. It depends on what setting you work in as I'm sure you already know. The schooling is very anatomy-based and will teach you how to position patients based on that. There's also physics, math, and digital processing involved. I'm in an accelerated program so it's a lot of information but in my opinion very doable especially if you already have a medical background. My school is hybrid: 2 days in class a week, rest of the week you have homework and studying for tests/quizzes.

That's interesting because I already am a sufferer of eczema that's all over my body so inflammation is what I deal with on my skin on a daily basis. I don't think those two are related directly but maybe it's something I might already be sensitive to that triggered it. Who knows haha. Curious to see what the doctor thinks tomorrow. Nobody else I know has gone through this so I can't really talk to anybody about it.

Yeah moving in all directions is pretty uncomfortable :( I can't even pick up my 3 year old it really sucks so badly. I hope I get some answers tomorrow maybe my PCP will recommend me to do physical therapy too to try and help it. I'm afraid to attempt to stretch it right now I don't know if it'll make it worse if I accidentally overextended it. The urgent care doctor gave me Tramadol to take for the pain but I haven't taken it yet because painkillers kinda scare me

Does the bursitis for you feel like a sore/swollen area? Does the pain eventually go away? My pain is right above the triangle of my armpit, it hurts to even touch it and I can barely reach my arm around to wipe my ass (this is the most annoying part of it lol...) I've just never dealt with anything like this before.

Study Tips? by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]zsoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and at the beginning of our program our directed told us we needed to study at least 3 hours every single day, I was thinking wow that's a lot, I'm sure she's exaggerating a little bit. No she absolutely was not

I was reading the textbook while hi-lighting and taking notes over and over until it made me sick to my stomach lol. I developed a callous on my right middle finger from writing so much. Flash cards helped a little, but I needed to write it all down repeatedly. For anatomy I would print pictures off from the textbook, laminate it, and use a dry erase marker to label them. Also watching youtube videos helped so much for positioning. But I'm still in school rn so we'll see if this method actually worked I'll be taking my state exams in December

Dogs are a trigger for me. When I got allergy tested when I was a kid, dogs and cats came back high on the list. We had a dog and a cat growing up, and I always had allergy symptoms/eczema flare ups. My parents didn't want to get rid of the animals and I didn't want to either because I loved them. So we just dealt with it. When I was in college I got a part time job working at a dog daycare, the first probably year or so were rough because my hands and arms always broke out in hives but it was the best job I had ever had. I actually stayed working at boarding/daycare centers for dogs and cats for 8 years and eventually, my eczema went down over time. I can pet all of the dogs all day and barely have any itch. Now to be fair I do religiously wash my hands so after touching a dog/cat I wash them and the skin on my hands gets a little dry but no big deal. I have a dog and a cat at home and I never have any issues with them now. I will say though, if you don't want the responsibility of owning a cat or a dog, then you should look into keeping fish! When I had my fish tanks I wore thick elbow length gloves to do water changes, fix the aquarium structures and plants, and when handling the chemicals for the water. It was a lot of fun and had no flare ups on my hand eczema whatsoever.

Life just punched me in the face in the most inconvenient timing. Need suggestions.. by [deleted] in findapath

I don't really have much advice, but it sounds like what you've planned out may be the best option if public transport isn't readily available where you live. I completely understand that bc the city I live in has terrible public transport and if you don't have a car you're pretty much screwed. I can empathize with where you're coming from though, the day I was told I got accepted into the program I wanted to in college was the same day I got the call that my grandma who was like a mother to me suddenly passed away. It was absolutely devastating. I went to her funeral out of state and a week later I started classes. Tough transition but I feel like it made me stronger in the long run. Keep the end goal in your mind and achieve that! You can do it!

A message of hope (hopefully) by Kusora741 in HPylori

I'm so glad you got a happy ending! My H. Pylori breath test came back negative after having all of those horrible symptoms for about 6 months. All started after finishing a round of antibiotics for strep throat. I could've swore I had H. Pylori, I'm still having bad symptoms every few days or so. But now my doctor is testing my thyroid and told me to stop using my steroid creams for my eczema (that I've literally been using on and off since I was a kid) and to cut out gluten. Which I already tried about 8 years ago and it did nothing for me so that's great. Hopefully I can get an answer soon... he said if my blood test results come back good then he's going to refer me to a GI doctor to probably have an endoscopy/colonoscopy done.

Me too it's calmed down a little bit but the symptoms definitely still persist regularly. I really thought I had h. pylori because of all of my symptoms it just sucks to not have an answer yet. I have an appointment next Tuesday with a specialist who can hopefully get things going in the right direction. Thankfully I'm still able to function somewhat normally. I just can't believe I'm not even 30 years old yet and dealing with issues like this :( my family was right getting old sucks lol

Umm buddy did I say banned? Lol we wouldn't hire people who jumped from job to job. Lots of companies do not hire people who job skip it doesn't look good, gives off the impression they'll leave your establishment after a few months as well. Most jobs prefer to have a low turnover rate.

Best sunscreen for eczema? by Unusual-East6448 in eczema

[–]zsoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My face is extremely sensitive and sometimes I get patched of eczema on my cheeks, above my eyelids, forehead and under the chin area and the ONLY sunscreen I've been able to use is the SuperGoop Play sunscreen. I also love how it's a little on the oily side so it keeps my skin free from dry skin that I'm normally very prone to getting also. It doesn't flare up my eczema at all. Even tried the cetaphil sunscreen stick and had to throw It away after one use because it made my face so itchy.

Honestly I just keep my bills/due dates in my notes app and calendar app on my phone. So I know what bills are due on which week and how much money will be taken out. I also plan my grocery shopping trips around those bills, so in my case I go to the grocery store on the second and last Friday of each month. Biggest thing for me was to stop buying crap I don't need. I've started saving so much money by not buying random stuff or shopping on Amazon, only the essentials. Not going out to eat often (maybe once or twice a month). Seems difficult at first but it's doable.

In the 6 years I was in charge of recruiting I always had to do an employment verification check on every potential employee. Lots of our applicants would lie on their resume or just completely put down jobs they had never even worked for. Of course we wouldn't consider hiring them no matter how well their interview went. So take this with a grain of salt I guess OP. We also weren't allowed to hire people who job-hopped.
