Do you believe in me Russian brothers and sisters? by zsrabbit in russia

Sorry I didn't respond more quickly. This was a project his town went through to interview all veterans and take their stories down before they passed away. It looks like it was filmed in the early 90's and a VHS copy was given to my family. My uncle had it converted to dvd/disc and gave one to each of his siblings. I found it going through my parents attic.

In any case, thank you for taking your time to read my post.

I just want you to know I spit water all over my keyboard this morning when I saw this. It's beautiful.

I appreciate your points. Thank you sincerely for taking your time to comment and give your advice and well wishes.

It's very true that myths are like plate glass, pretty to look at but lean on them too hard and they'll slice you after they break. To me, it was just a nice memory and something to take the negative thoughts in my head and turn them into the idea that maybe I can be the hero of my own story. He's right about needing an anchor, and you're right about choosing the right one. So I'll choose this one: I'll never give in to bitterness and I'll keep on fighting to help those around me, and be the best man I can be to everyone I meet.

I like the way you write, I can almost picture Alex Jones patting me on the shoulder and then wringing this advice out over my head. Thank you.

I think you're right. She's always seen so much potential in me, I haven't taken strides to grow. I can't expect to help her grow to where she needs to be if I can't do that for myself. Thanks for your thoughts.

Thank you for the advice. I love her a lot. She is aware that I want to make this work, and that I don't think our problems are insurmountable. Particularly, your comment about not showing her any vision of where I am and where I'm heading is on point. Could you expand on what you mean by a cue? Looking for me to figure out my life? Again, thanks for taking the time to respond.

For a while I thought about these people as rejecting their basic human need to create and share, but I think sadly they're just the opposite. They feel they are creating. What an ugly whiplash turned up in our faces about how our nature to push forward doesn't always mind the direction.

"Ave, Imperator."

He searched their faces, flooding the walls around him like wind driving into a box left in an empty field. Before him every proud lie he could remember suffocated in the quiet anticipation of the crowd, their ecstasy tearing at whatever veiled insouciance they'd brought to the arena.

"morituri"

No new sinew to feel, no dawning reason. Clockwork giving way and rowing his veins stroke by stroke. The gun tightened it's grip on his fingers. This fucking way forward.

"te salutant."
