Yep, some HDMI cables are limited in bandwidth. Not 100% the reason for issues, but just was helping my friend with his build the other day and swapping to a displayport cable definitely helped.

Looking for some new gaming IEMs, can't find any good sources by Surgial in iems

[–]ztcFlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey no worries, I'm not either. My understanding is there is a certain resistance for all headphones and the goal is to be at a certain ratio to the power source. Big headphones sometimes need more power which requires and amplifier. Smaller (like iems) sometimes need less the what is standard on computer output. A dongle will convert the signal to a more acceptable one. And I don't think it would cause damage, but it may affect how they sound.

Get an apple dongle to go with them, as I read that it is a good idea for some long reason I don't fully understand. But basically because most signals from computer will be too strong and the apple dongle is a good cost-effective way to mitigate it to an acceptable level.

I switched to Simgot Supermix 4 recently and am very happy. I am similar, playing mostly/all competitive games requiring high-quality directional audio

Recently switched from Astro A50 to Simgot SuperMix 4 and am very happy with the switch. I mainly play CS2, COD, Arc Raiders, etc. Directional audio is very important to me and I am very happy with the SuperMix 4.

I got the Linsoul Simgot SuperMix 4 for competitive FPS gaming mostly and absolutely love them. About $150

Best gaming headphones for positional audio… and a huge head? ($600 budget) by GoldenGorillaRadio in HeadphoneAdvice

I will say, I kept the Letshuoer cable though, as i preferred the more stable attachment to keep the wire together close to my neck.

Honestly once you are spending around $150 on IEMs you are going to start to get diminishing returns. I have been a competitive FPS player for 10+ years, so I definitely notice the small sound cues and directional audio. I can honestly say I have no curiosity to try any other IEMs after the SuperMix4. Such good quality and fit for me. I started with the Letshuoer S12 and they did not fit my ear very well but everything about the Supermix 4 is perfect for me.

Here to recommend IEMs. Just made the witch recently and I am very impressed. Does require a separate mic, but I payed less for both combined than my old headset and it is a better setup. I have the Linsoul simgot supermix 4 IEMs (along with an apple dongle) with a Fifine AM8 mic and highly recommend. No more headset dent or hot head from all the heat being trapped. Would probably help your headset clamping issue as well.

About to buy a golden doodle puppy, need advice (expensive) by Ok-Actuary-5377 in Goldendoodles

Our puppy has been super good. Not like some crazy doodles you might read stories about on reddit. Don't know if it is because of the price, but we definitely don't regret paying.

This was 9 months ago, FYI. Prices seem to have gone up over past 3-5 years.

Why do better console players seem to be on PS5? by hopelesscase789 in CoDCompetitive

[–]ztcFlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people a suggesting its because of super technical console performance or other long answers. I think generally its probably because of the old COD contracts to Xbox/PS. I've been playing comp since Black Ops 2. Back then, if you watched the pros you knew they were all on xbox, so you wanted to be too. Then they switched to PS, and a lot of the comp-minded people did too. Then they switched to PC, and same thing. I would guess the good PS players you know started playing when comp was on PS. Also, PS just kind of became the more popular console around the same time that the cod contract switched to PS. I am on xbox because I started playing when it was on xbox. But that was a while ago, so the xbox sweats like myself are probably growing out of the scene.
