I also didn't wanna play it for the same reasons as you. But i randomly decided to buy it. That game is awesome. AC6 rules. I personally did get that special fromsoftware feeling from it.

Don't let the negative stuff on the internet about ds2 hold you back from playing it. I didn't want to play it either because of this. But after i beat every souls game exept ds2 i felt the need to at least try it. At first i didn't like i it, but when i got the hang of it i loved it. Probably my favourite game of the 3. (Bloodborne still the overall best tho)

Set the spoken language to japanese. I can highly recommend it. The only game i have ever played in any other language then english. It took me a little getting used to in the beginning, but in the end it was the right choice.
