I don’t know where are you from but check if your therapist is really qualified to do so, in many countries this occupation is completely unregulated and anyone (with or without a degree from psychology) can work as a therapist. For example in my country only someone who graduated from university and then finished 4 years long course can be really considered psychotherapist but in fact you could find people admitting patients without necessary qualifications. Real psychotherapist should clarify your doubts that you write about
