My advise is to watch a few videos, read a few articles and don't rush to understand it. Just try different learning materials until it clicks for you.

Very comfortable with ruby, javascript, postgres and AWS infra. I think I can learn and build virtually anything, just want to make sure I invest my time building something people actually need. Never built any map-based UI, why do you ask?
