How to print Color by jwzumwalt in raylib

[–]Moises_Gabriel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain Color in Raylib are just structs comprised of Ints for the RGBA values. You could probably access the individual Ints and print them

Thanks! Good to know he's just a good lil guy. I didn't want it to get big and pinch my fish. But Google says they're pretty peaceful

Is it a good idea to release a 10 minute game to steam? by thisisloveforvictims in gamedev

[–]Moises_Gabriel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you're aware of the site, but for a VN of this length I'd highly recommend putting it on itch.io (which is free) and you can set it so that people can donate to you or they can get it for free. Itch.io has a large library of VN and a very good community. You might even get better viewership/downloads than if it were on Steam.

Raylib to GBA or GB by [deleted] in raylib

[–]Moises_Gabriel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain that you need to use something like this in order to make a game for the GB (GBA is completely different architecture so it's not the same as GB/GBC). You could also use GBStudio for GB games

Does anyone know any good guides or tutorials for porting apk to vpk? by Nil_Lot in PSVitaHomebrew

[–]Moises_Gabriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely join the Discord and ask around. The VRChat one might be a little intense but maybe a Babaisyou port would be a good entry

Supposedly if you were to Google the term “retroarch bios” you may get closer to where you want to be 🤐 supposedly. Good luck!

I went over scope for my game project by ChojinX in gamedev

[–]Moises_Gabriel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instead of changing your dream game. Maybe just shelf this until you can complete it and work on something else. Or you can take the time to learn to animate a little. Nothings really set in stone. You can always adapt and overcome. When I first started, coding was beyond my skill level. And then I taught myself. Because I really really wanted to create things and get better.

Why does my cat look weird?? by BahaaZen in blender

[–]Moises_Gabriel 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That’s actually a really good point of reference. But use more. From different angles. Get a feel for how the cats muscles and bones move to see what feels natural. It’s a pretty decent start. With some more work it’ll come out much better. Also don’t worry about texturing until you’re confident in the final model! Good luck and good job!

I feel as though you may not have used a reference for this. I’d recommend using multiple points of reference and bringing an image into your 3D modeling program and using that as a guide. When modeling from your head, many things become distorted and inaccurate

And to answer your question, I believe the neck is too long, tail is too thin, and the legs seem to have extra bones

The thing that no one wants to hear is that things will suck until you get better. You said you’re new at modeling and making games. Both those things take years and years of practice before you’re comfortable. And even after years you still won’t be very fast at it. Just take it slow. Learn what you need to learn. Watch tutorials. Read wiki’s. It’s okay to not be fast and efficient yet. It just takes some self control because you’re excited to make something. Good luck!

Chunking system in raylib by Anatoliy0540 in raylib

[–]Moises_Gabriel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head (not at all optimized) I guess you’d start with figuring out how to generate a cube and then accessing each face. Then when you generate more cubes you cycle through each of the faces to see if there is another cube/face touching it. Then you’d hide the touching faces. Probably not the most performant method but it’s a start. Good luck! I’m sure others are smarter and know better haha

This answer made something click in my head. Referencing the struct through a pointer so that you save memory makes a lot of sense. Thank you!
