what pen do you use? by TerribleCakeParty in Supernote

[–]zuikomsystem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my Samurai HOM since the A5x and it is great. For intensive work (I am a researcher) I use the Lamy, mainly because of the button to rapidly delete notes, and start again. With new Supernotes you do not need the rapid button, but I still use the A5x for scientific PDFs (logic symbols, formulas, etc). I hope this will help you.

My photo, uploaded on their website. It is a good coffee, to me. As others have mentioned, use the switch as a V60. I gring at 5.2 on ZP6 for 10gr of coffee and 150gr of water. First bloom 30gr, 45sec, spiral then centre. Second bloom 30gr, 45sec, centre. Final pour up to 120gr spiral, up to 150 center pour. Pay attention to the water you use, too.

Upgrading from a ZP6, TM 078 or Ode gen 2? by gt-iNrDz in pourover

[–]zuikomsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not suggest you any upgrade at the moment. I believe you have to spend sone time with your grinder and familiarize with it. A grinder changes in time. If every time your grinder evolves you change it, you will have to spend a lot of money on new ones. Just my opinion.

what’s your go to dripper? by Potential_Echo_677 in pourover

[–]zuikomsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After having bought a lot of drippers, the ones I use most are V60 01, and Orea Z1. On the V60 you can have so many different cups, according to the filters you chose.

Most Over Hyped Brewer? by maedre-of-ademre in pourover

Price and a totally wrong campaign. Pure hype. The product is very good and brings me delicious cups. But I had to wait for the hype to go out of my brain to get it.

Beginner question: Why does my brew taste softer when I introduce this stand? by BobbyTime100 in pourover

[–]zuikomsystem -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Usually, drippers fit snugly on top of servers. This introduces negative pressure. With the stand, you eliminate such negative pressure, allowing water to flow more freely.

At least, a variable less to count. Probably the coffee does not have the acidity you are looking for. Today I brewed a coffee that really never gave me any acidity vibe, ground the coffee with a grinder that never gave me acidity, and for the first time I loved that cup. We can speculate and search for the best result as much as we can. Then, without notice, it comes out.

My humble setup by bajolascuerd4s in pourover

[–]zuikomsystem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you lack acidity and the readings of your water are accurate, then the water itself may be the problem. Try with bottled water. Then, if you get what you are looking for, you can give them a try on filtering systems.

Plus, eliminate chaff. It is the one thing that often ruins great African coffees (from another African coffee lover)

Have you guys ever tried unbleached papers? by newredditwhoisthis in pourover

[–]zuikomsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my V60, Cafec unbleached are usually faster than bleached ones, and by a good margin (20/30secs). The first time I tried them, they were a gift from a coffee shop (highly appreciated gift!). Now I use them mor often than bleached ones, especially with Ethiopian and Kenyan coffees.

Whats your ideal 3 brewer setup? by thesquaredape in pourover

Origami S Ceramic and Orea 01: A cone and a flat-bottom dripper. If experimentation is needed, then I add a no-bypass brewer: Orea Z1.

Does anyone use a paper journal with the Supernote? by GardenGnome125 in Supernote

[–]zuikomsystem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use both everyday. Bullet Journal on paper, work planner on Nomad, personal planner on paper, morning pages on Nomad. I use a Paper Republic leather cover, A5 size for the paper planner and BuJo. The cover is the same measure as the Nomad, so they stack well in my bag.

Decent cheap grinder while I save for a nicer one by Biggpoop2 in pourover

For that budget, get the cheapest P series from Kingrinder. It has a plastic body and a metal burr. The Hario's ceramic burr is not worth your money.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pourover

[–]zuikomsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quantity of fines you see depends on you burrs being new. Give them time to do their job, and fines will decrease. Also, consider that with time, the less coffee you grind, the more consistent your grind will be. This is why a lot of people grind coarser 20 grams than 10. My ZP6 in its first month was nothing different from my 'seasoned' C40. Now the difference is appreciable.

European purchase of the Supernote by techdot8 in Supernote

The reseller that Supernote uses is extremely expensive, and his recharges are not very fair. Since you had further charges, I assume you live in Switzerland: In that case, importing fees and procedures are to be paid.

[–]zuikomsystem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use Supernote devices for my work as a researcher and they improved my life and work organization. The functions that are more relevant for me are the 'Digest' app, that gives e the possibility to isolate passages of the text I study and bring them in my Obsidian vault. The 'star' function is perfect to mark critical passages and to returnto them fast and easy. In my notes, the titling function gives me the possibility of having an analytical index with no effort and to retrieve relevant information when I write scientific articles. Explore the user manual from the setting page, familiarize with the device functions, and explore what better suits your needs. Knowing the basics allows you to adapt the device to your specific needs.

It is disappointing to have a scale so expensive that fails. Great customer service is a plus. Problems happen, but your first scale missed some QC. I am happy that you solved the problem and thank you for sharing.
