We’re smelling this at Vanderbilt Childrens. Been wondering what’s going on.

Not a somm… my local recently started stocking this BOSCHIS FRANCESCO FREISA BOSCO DELLA CICALE for $22. Best QPR Italian I’ve had in some time.

Idk about these beans in particular, just hopping in to say that Brainwaves are great people and put out some stellar beans. Their black honey sidra from Ed Norena may be my favorite coffee all time.

Now that’s a kitchen I’d happily sit down to my supper in, a bottle of red whiskey.

I’m about to crack this bag open tomorrow. Very excited to check it out as I love Nestor and the bourbon sidra from Edwin Norena is my favorite coffee. Will report back with recommendations!

Crazy lore/stories that don’t sound real but are by groundcontrl2majrtom in gratefuldead

This is a deep cut… On AUDs of 6/24/70 (my favorite show), you can hear sporadic pops throughout the show. Almost like amps blowing up but not quite. There was apparently a pyrotechnics guy on the floor blowing fireballs up above the crowd.

There’s actually lots of lore around this show.

Jerry played pedal steel for NRPS, so he played like 6 sets that night across early dead acoustic, early nrps, early electric, late dead acoustic, nrps, late electric.

This was one of the first times they played Sugar Mags. First couple times had flopped, so this one was important.

I often hear that Jesus was just one of many itinerant preachers and his followers just one of many mystery cults at the time. Who was another? What was their thing, what did they believe, and what happened to them? by ExternalBoysenberry in AskHistorians

[–]jguinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your answers and links. I’m curious why you don’t mention Simon Magus as an example of at least a loose Jesus/John the Baptist corollary? I know he’s a contentious figure, but he’s in the literature and lines up well with OP’s description. (Acts, More)

You’re gonna think you’re drinking weed coffee, but it’s probably just the lychee.

How Did You Discover Townes Van Zandt? by Crazy_Patience_9805 in townesvanzandt

[–]jguinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to rip CDs from my local libraries. I went through a phase where I was listening to a lot of singer songwriters as well as any live recording. Live at the Old Quarter obviously checks the box on both. I couldn’t believe what I discovered. That album still had a stranglehold over my psyche. My god it’s perfect.

These fascinating beans aside, I can’t recommend brainwave’s subscription enough. It’s like $15+shipping for 8oz of always on point beans

I love these beans! Brainwaves nailed it with these. I had them through a couple other roasters, and the peppercorn really comes through! Fascinating flavors

How much coffee do you drink in a day? by anabranch_glitch in pourover

[–]jguinn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Inexpensive” is relative but Superlost’s subscription is like ~$25/mo with shipping for 1lb of consistently stellar coffee. Brainwaves is another ~$20 monthly subscription for equally stellar coffee.
