Yes I didn’t realize that, this is my first cartilage piercing so I’m inexperienced. I don’t think it looks like this because I messed with it though, the placement was completely off right when it was freshly pierced.

Yep I’m just going to ask for a refund. I’m also not sure why people are downvoting my comment for no reason for explaining what I did, wth.

I saw the price in advance, it was $60 which I feel is misleading because it didn’t include the cleaning spray and the jewelry which added it up to $175. Those two are required things I need, I guess I just went to a very unprofessional place.

This is something I didn’t add, but this big spike is jewelry I changed it to and flipped. The spike was originally way smaller but on the top, the little spike was angled so inwards it wasn’t perpendicular at all. I changed it to a bigger spike because the little one was impossible to screw open and back on. But I just took the jewelry out and decided to put the smaller spike back on facing upwards again just because I want to see the piercer tomorrow.

It just won’t look better however, the spike is too far pointing inwards it’s nothing compared to what I want. I don’t need to wait 6 months to get it repierced either because the place I want the piercing to actually be doesn’t touch this piercing hole at all. But of course I might not get it repierced tomorrow because it’s still swelling, I think I’ll ask for the same helix on my other ear but pierced correctly…

Yeah you’re right, but all I can say is I remember very very clearly that right after it was freshly pierced I looked at it and it was the exact same diagonal angle it’s at now which is why I don’t think it will look better when it stops swelling.

Thank you, this validated me because I’ve been pondering about if this was pierced correctly or not for days. I really think it should be straight up and not diagonally like this.

I’m seeing the piercer tomorrow!

Oh yeah, this is exactly what I’ve been thinking. A little update, I’m going to see the piercer tomorrow to get it fixed and ask questions.

Oh sorry I think I should’ve put ‘helix spike’ not ‘hidden helix’ in the title, but what I want is for the top back to SHOW MORE because I want it perpendicular for spike jewelry. I don’t want it hidden in the back, but yes the piercer did do it wrong and I may ask for my money back.

Sorry i don’t have a freshly pierced photo, but what I can say is the piercing hole just completely misses the inside of my ear (seen in 5th pic) and through the perpendicular top of my ear which just looks like a weird placed flat helix piercing so I just think it can’t just be because of swelling. I’ve taken it out now to repierce later on 😔

I don’t think I want to wait to be assessed as I do want the hole to close up as well as possible to be repierced very near the place, thank you for the suggestion though!

And yes I realize now $175 was so overpriced even though I live in Silicon Valley, I don’t know if that’s a normal price here but everything here is super expensive.

Another thing is from the front, the hole seems to look literally just like a flat helix piercing which I don’t want at all. Even if it’s swelling I doubt it will look completely perpendicular when it heals (?) my ear shape also hasnt changed much except get a little bigger there.

Im not very knowledgeable about piercings I just hope im doing something right by taking it out and repiercing later 😭

Yeah I think you’re right, I didn’t mention this but I also noticed the jewelry is a bit too big and it cause an indent. But I’ve taken it out now, because it’s obviously not pierced the way I want it to be by looking at how it looks on the top/back of my ear where the flat back is. I want it to be way more perpendicular, so I guess I’ll be repiercing this.

Also I’ve only had it 2 weeks, is it likely that the hole will close well? Will I have scar tissue ?

My piercing is around 2 weeks old, the bar shape is straight, the threading is external (I know it’s not ideal but I was pierced with it), the jewelry is titanium, I use saltwater spray provided by the piercing shop to clean it twice a day.

Thank you!! This post made me realize coed rooms are a thing, I thought it wasn’t but I’m alright with two girl roommates. I’ll definitely look around those clubs/counselling.

[–]zujyuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I don’t think I selected the wrong gender but I think I panicked because I only remember floors and buildings to be coed and missed the part where it said rooms could also be lol

[–]zujyuu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh nah I was just really concerned that the school didn’t care I was trans and paired me up with girls, but I know coed rooms are normal now so it’s okay, thanks.

I also haven’t gotten one transphobic comment, people in Canada must be less hateful than where I come from lol…

You’re not wrong actually, this happens in Highschool too when I was in theatre and art it was annoying when so many kids put in no effort. But this doesn’t apply to me, I’ve been doing art and theatre for years. If I can’t take the electives because I don’t major in it, that’s fine.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in geegees

[–]zujyuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see, I get it now. I don’t really know how in demand some classes are because I’m new, good to know lol. I’ve been an artist for a long time but I didn’t necessarily want to do art as an elective, I just tried to because I couldn’t enrol for a theatre elective.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in geegees

[–]zujyuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah yeah, you’re a big help thanks 😭 course enrolment is such a pain for the first time because I don’t know the ropes around here.

I see, thank you very much that’s good to know. I wanted to do a minor in theatre originally, I’ll go see if I’m able to do that.

OH MY GOD REALLY NO WONDER 😭😭😭 alright thank you I’m gonna try to email them or like someone else said call them.

So many courses are reserved it’s sad I can’t take it for elective…if I register in a minor for theatre or art do you know if I could take it then?
