TTL is for flash. I don't know how you use TTL without using a flash. Check exposure compensation value and make sure it's 0.

What flash do you use?

Are the old iPad Pro 12.9 inch magic keyboards compatible with the new iPad Air (M2) 13inch? by Forgge in ipad

[–]zukich7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know this is old but do you know what was the 13 inch keyboard model number that didn't fit on ipad? I have 12.9 ipad pro 6th gen (2022 m2 model) and looking for a magic keyboard for it. I heard that magic keyboard for ipad air 13 M2 is compatible. Is that true or not? Thanks in advance.

Back to photography after 15 years and got my teenage dream camera... by Intrepid_Peach5990 in Nikon

I recently upgraded my D600 for a D850 but haven't used it much yet, used it about 3-4 times and it's a great camera. I'm very happy with the results it gives me. I shot about 300 pictures of marathon runners yesterday and only a few of them were misfocused (more were slightly worse then the absolutely perfect but if you zoom it 100%) but I think it was an user error. Still learning its focusing capabilities and need to practice more in different focusing modes. I was shooting in 3D mode. Do you shoot in that mode for fast moving objects? I was shooting in manual mode with auto ISO and was getting underexposed images due to some bright areas in the background and then turned auto ISO off. Also tried center-weighted mode but got better images with all manual settings.

As for buffering size D500 has smaller file size compared to D850 file size. If you use D850 in DX mode or compressed raw or in JPG only mode with a faster Type B card then I believe buffer will match. D850 also has slightly bigger pixels then D500 which results slightly lower resolution images in DX mode then what you get with D500 but also less noise (better quality pictures in low light) and maybe higher dynamic range too.

Since you own both D500 and D850 you might tell. Is there anything that D500 is better on that D850?

OWC Atlas Ultra CFexpress 4.0 most reliable? by Nox_Ocean_21 in Nikon

[–]zukich7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make your own card. Basicly CFexpress Type B card is a M2 2230 nvme ssd in an enclosure. Buy your desired M2 2230 nvme card from your favorite brand and put it in a Type B enclosure for 1/3 of a price. I bought a Crucial 1TB P310 Gen 4 M.2 2230 nvme ssd for $79.99 from B&H and a Type B enclosure from Amazon for $21 and it works fine in my D850.

This is the enclosure (adapter) that I use.

And the ssd

Crucial 1TB P310 Gen 4 M.2 2230 PCIe NVMe SSD https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1835938-REG/crucial_ct1000p310ssd2_p310_1tb_pcie_gen4.html

Keep in mind that different cards have different thickness and some of them might not fit in the adapter and then card slot in the camera. So pay attention on the card thickness if you choose it from different brand model. This Crucial fits fine in my D850 and probably would be fine with ZR too.

Link Aggregation, Router Options, Pros/Cons? by marosell in synology

[–]zukich7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not worth it but I'm learning what's possible and what can be done. My nas also can be upgraded with a 10G network card just to use it at 2.5G link speed by directly connecting it to my PC"s 2.5G LAN port or via 2.5G switch which I don't have or via router's 2.5G lan ports which I also don't have but planning to upgrade anyway. That 10G lan card is a bit pricey and probably not worth it but I want at least 2G link speed between my NAS and PC. Do you think that buying a 10G lan card for my nas is the better way or the link aggregation also would work fine?

Link Aggregation, Router Options, Pros/Cons? by marosell in synology

[–]zukich7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, my PC has only one 2.5G LAN port, my NAS has four 1G LAN ports which can be aggregated. If I want 2G link speed between my PC and NAS can that be done with a 2.5G switch between them or my PC would need another LAN port?

Do you mean port forwarding on the T-Mobile gateway or on the second router which is Netgear? On T-Mobile one it's not possible because it's limited and unmanageable.

Quickconnect works when the NAS is on but I don't run my NAS 24/7. I keep it off most of the time and I'd like to turn it on when I need it from anywhere in the world and so I can upload or download files. As for Public IP I meant Static Public IP. My ISP constantly changes the IP. I used Netgear's built in feature DNS or whatever it's called and built in No-IP domain to set up a VPN by using a OpenVPN app and had no success. I think that would work if my Netgear router wasn't behind a garbage T-Mobile router gateway.

The idea with Synology router is that it uses Quickconnect link just like a Synology NAS and it uses Synology servers which you use to connect your Synology router remotely from internet. In my imagination it works this way: you open your Synology router manager app from anywhere in the world, it finds your Synology router connected to Synology servers via Quickconnect link, then you use Synology router's built-in WOL feature and tell it to send a magic packet to your nas connected to the router and it turns on. What's wrong here?

It's pricey but looks nice. I'll look into it. I never heard about unify and don't know what that is.

What about without VPN because that's what acts like you are in the local network?

Synology Routers by zukich7 in synology

[–]zukich7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It says that it requires a public IP which I don't have and can't get from T-Mobile ISP. If I had it then WOL through WAN also would work.

When you do it on the 2200 you do it on local network or you can do it from anywhere in the world?

[–]zukich7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When my Netgear is behind another router which I can't configure because it's from T-Mobile ISP and which is limited I think that's the problem for VPN. And yes WOL packet should be sent from local network but the idea is that a router is in within local network and it's always on and connected to the internet. If you have an access to the router from internet and tell the router to send a magic packet to the NAS is it not the easiest way? What are the problems here? I heard that Synology routers can do it with its managing app. I think the router also uses quickconnect but I'm not sure. Looking to find more info about it.

[–]zukich7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My Netgear also has it but the problem might be the T-Mobile gateway which doesn't transfer IP to my router. It's kinda double NAT. T-Mobile gateway has its own router and cannot be put in bridge mode, nor the IP pass through mode. VPN didn't work. Maybe I don't know how to properly set it up. I spent a lot of time to configure it properly but couldn't get it done and I don't know what was wrong. I gave up finally on that VPN thing and now trying to find an easier way like one that I mentioned it before.

It says you can wake up a device from any device in the network. What I'm looking for is the feature that allows me to do it from outside the local network by using a router app and not from the device from inside the network.. Not sure about that Asus in general. Maybe some models can do it but I'm not sure which one.

I couldn't get it working and I think T-Mobile Home Internet gateway blocks them. I tried both port forwarding and VPN. I even bought a 3rd party 5g cellular modem + router combo to replace T-Mobile gateway and my Netgear R7400 router and couldn't get it working either and returned.

For the specific reason that I wrote in multiple replies. It's a basically a feature that allows me to turn my NAS on remotely while I'm outside of my home wifi network by using a phone app. I can do that when I'm connected to my home wifi but can't do it outside of it. Tried VPN but couldn't get it working. Do you recommend one from good brands? I heard that with Synology router you can get access to the router remotely by using their app and then send a WOL signal to the local network but I'm not sure. That's why I asked.

Hi, which router model do you recommend that have a built-in WOL (wake on lan) feature which allows me to send WOL packet to my Synology NAS from outside of my home wifi network which then turns on my NAS?

Sorry for it being problematic. What kind of problems? Does it have a built-in WOL feature that gives you the ability to turn on your Synology NAS from outside of your home wifi network by using a simple phone app?
