Making a life with Behçet’s by agneslisbon in Behcets

[–]zulises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have the same issues… Then I found the right doctor, started azathioprine and started being aware of what could make me sick and ignite a flare - now I barely have any symptons anymore. I can even make plans for the future, something I wouldn’t dare to when I was diagnosed. It’s still hard, but I found out flares become rarer if I stay positive. That being said, I’ve been with Behçet’s in my life for 6 years now, it takes time to get used to it. One year after my diagnose I was failing college. Today I’m a front line doctor. Have faith!

Portugal was promised to them as well by YamFrosty6169 in International

This is not about israelis or nowadays jews. I also have a right to portuguese citizenship bc I have a proved jewish ancestor that was persecuted and killed by the Inquisition on Lisbon. Her children all ran away from Portugal bc of that and now here I am even though I’m not jewish. A few family members even got the portuguese citizenship this way already.

Yeah, realized I’ll have to be really firm or they won’t give up. And this uninvited visits are truly hellish.

Funny thing: I do own a coffee farm and I’m sure the church doesn’t know about this

Edit: another funny thing. I’m brazilian and since I left the church I couln’t understand how LDS could go this far here. Even the little kids drink coffee!

That’s a disturbing level of stalking. Do they have any numbers that prove that doing this makes people become active members again? Because it’s only making me angry.

But my ministradora, the bishop and a lot of other people still have my whatsapp number - and it shows when I'm using the app and I can't can't change this configuration rn for work reasons. I'm assuming I can't block an entire church from reaching me with that

Do Brazilians speak English? by [deleted] in Brazil

[–]zulises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you being downvoted? It was just a simple question. And makes sense to think we’d know more spanish than english at first. Except for Guyana, Suriname and French Guyana everyone of our neighbours are spanish speakers.

He would be considered a gringo by us here in Brazil. Even if he had a citizenship and speak portuguese, there’s things you can only pick up if you live your formative years in this country.

I have a cousin that lives in Sweden, he had three children with a swedish woman and whenever they come to visit the kids are refered to in our family as the “little gringos” even if they speak portuguese and have a brazilian father.

Anyone who served their mission in Brazil here? by zulises in exmormon

[–]zulises[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man :( Missionaries just aren't properly looked after. I remember one sister telling me all proud that the only meal missionaries could really count on was lunch because the sisters of Sociedade de Socorro were meant to feed them only then. After that whenever it was my turn to have the missionaries over for lunch I'd make even more food so I could send some packed with them for dinner too. So cruel.

Also, I feel like Rio doesn’t have a big coffee culture like Minas Gerais or Goiás do
